Palladio Crushed Metallic Shadow Review & Swatches
Palladio Crushed Metallic Shadow ($5.99) are a new eyeshadow formula available in 10 shade selections that give eyes a foiled finish with a light, creamy, highly pigmented formula. These recently popped up on Ulta.com and I grabbed up a single shade in Supernova along with the new Palladio Butter Me Up! Lip Balm.
I wasn’t so sure I’d like this formula since the Butter Me Up! formula was such a disappointment. Granted, they are two different products but I still had my doubts. I find Palladio a hit or miss situation but they did do something right with the Crushed Metallic Shadow for sure!
Palladio Crushed Metallic Shadow comes housed in a .0400 oz clear compact that stores easily. I liked the packaging a lot. As I get older I start appreciating small eyeshadow pots and pans that stack up and store away easily within a drawer or tray.
I’m not much of a metallic finish kinda girl as metallic tends to look frosty on me but Palladio got the finish done rather well. These aren’t frosty nor are they cakey. They do have a brilliant finish that has a high sheen without the use of chunky glitter or shimmer. The formula has a soft almost clay-like texture that’s has a certain creaminess in the pot but applies and sets as a powder. I thought the texture reminds me a little bit of Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. You can apply these with your fingers but I wouldn’t suggest smooshing a finger into the pot as the shadows are really soft and you can potentially ruin them. I find an eyeshadow applicator is the best way to go if possible. The pigment is crazy here! The single shade I tried was very, very pigment rich with excellent color pay off and a creamy, smooth glide on lids that was soft and even upon application with or without primer. I found color stayed intense all day without fading or creasing on my drier eyes.
If you like intense shades of eyeshadow I’m positive you’ll get on very well with Palladio Crushed Metallic Shadow formula. Honestly, you wouldn’t believe you paid $6 for these as they have the formula and excellent color pay off that you’d see from brands like Too Faced or Urban Decay.
Muse Approved.
