Palladio Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color Review & Swatches
Palladio Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color ($6.99) (0.147 oz) are a new matte liquid lipstick available in 10 shade selections that are launching now for Spring 2016. It seems a while since Palladio has introduced new products so this and their new Butter Me Up! Balm come as a pleasant surprise.
Liquid lipsticks have become so very popular the last few seasons and drugstore brands such as Revlon, Maybelline, etc…have also taken on the trend. It’s always nice to have a few inexpensive options when it comes to liquid lipstick at least for me as I’m not a huge fan of the formula so I’d rather spend six or seven dollars versus twenty or more!
I think a lot of the matte liquid lip colors that have recently launched at drugstores have had more of a hybrid formula which was part gloss, part lipstick. I’m liking them a lot! You might have already tried the new Maybelline Vivid Mattes and Revlon HD Mattes and both have a gel-like consistency that feels and looks amazing. But if they aren’t really your thing and you desire a more traditional matte the new Palladio Velvet Matte Cream Lip Color might be a better fit for you.
These are ok, I wouldn’t say they are the best matte liquid lipsticks I’ve tried but for six bucks they are nice enough. I find them a little dry and they do transfer so if you’re looking for all day wear from these you won’t get that although they do wear for a good five hours without migrating or feathering. But when drinking they do leave behind color on your cup. The formula is thick and creamy at first but it thins out to a nice lightweight finish. I didn’t have an issue with color sticking to my drier lips nor did color crack, flake, or feather during the wear. They are drying but color never flaked up nor did it fall into my natural lip lines even though the consistency gets tighter as it sets. I didn’t notice a flavor or fragrance in this formula.
