$500 for the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette!? This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things!

too faced sweet peach

Shame on you Evil-bay sellers! Selling the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette for $500? Seriously.

Thanks but no thanks.

Have you ever been desperate enough to splurge on some makeup item at a higher price?

I know I’ve been there but I have doubts I’d go for a markup this high!

How about you?

I mean, I though about getting 2 and selling one on ebay for like $70.00 + shipping, which is only a $20.00 profit. Just so that who didn’t get a chance to get it can. I would never mark it up like that. That’s a pretty shitty thing to do.

        • Anon

Except the people who didn’t get a chance to get it couldn’t get it because it was out of stock due to all the people buying them to put on ebay.

Seriously? You think making a $20 profit makes you a better person?

  • Dee

Never. I hope this ebayer bought a ton of these palettes and gets stuck with every last one of them.

  • Suzie

This is so stupid! These are going to be in store soon, I haven’t been able to snap one up online but I will just go to Ulta on 4/7, for goodness sake! This annoys the crap out of me.

I ALMOST paid $100 for the Urban Decay Spectrum palette when I missed the initial release last fall and didn’t think there were going to be any more, but luckily I resisted and bought it for regular price when it was re-released a few months later – whew!

    • Isabella Muse

I can’t remember the last time I wanted something so bad I had to evilbay it but I def have been on that bandwagon Jen! You aren’t alone!

  • Dora

That is evil and silly. Since a) it will be back in stores eventually and b) it’s just eye shadow. Not to judge anyone who buys stuff at a mark-up on Ebay. I suppose I’m only mildly makeup-addicted because it would never cross my mind to do that.

I bought MAC alluring aquatics mystical lipstick on ebay for 35 :((((( I just wanted it soo bad, I wont do that again. If these companies would stop launching in the middle of the night and have enough to go around this wouldn’t happen.

    • Isabella Muse

I purchased a lot of the mac AA collection from ebay too Barbara! It was sold out and I wanted so many things from that collection!

  • Heidi

I want to meet the person who would buy it for $500. I have some magic beans to sell them…

  • Janessa

I totally caved on the recent MAC Malificent lip trio and got it off EvilBay… Paid like $75 for the gloss, liner and lipstick… Just for the packaging -_-

  • Rachel R.

That’s just wrong. I can’t believe anyone would pay $500 US for a palette, unless it makes you look like a young Angelina Jolie for all eternity.

  • Dee

I hope I didn’t come off “judging” because I’m a definite makeup addict and have looked for and bought on eBay. It’s the $500 price !!!!!

  • Michelle

A few years back Mac had the summer collection in the brown packaging and the blush “ripe for love” I was so frustrated I couldn’t get it I finally caved and got it on Amazon for $40. Not crazy over-priced and I have loved that blush ever since. I am excited about the peach pallet, but nothing in it is amazingly different that I would go to those lengths.

  • Danielle

Okay, confession time! Yes, I splurged on the Tarte Blush book and Tarte Off the Cuff palette. (Both were around $100.) I just had to have them!!

Isn’t this palette going to be in stores soon? eBay frustrates me for this reason. There’s no need to buy tons of a limited edition item (i.e. Lily Pulitzer for Target) and try to sell for a profit. It’s unnecessary and unfair. But I don’t usually splurge on things like that. I can either wait or live without it.

Hi all. Just wanted to pipe in as on of the unscammy Ebay sellers. I too am disgusted by these sellers that buy up ALL the products to sell on eBay for ridiculous prices. I am so tired of this because it gives us good sellers on eBay a bad rep too just because we share the same online shopping mall. I never participate in buying these kind of highly anticipated TO HOT TO TOUCH new products and sell only Brand New but more mainstream items people need to replenish down the road. Having been a couponer for many years I found my niche which many people don’t bother with or just don’t have time to do (plus illness kept me homebound so I had to do something with my time or lose my mind, lol). So I use my promotions and rewards and then try to pass the saving on to the buyers at cheaper then retail (sometimes even delivered to their door). So I just wanted to say that I agree with everyone on here 100% in regards to the many greedy sellers on eBay. Sad. 🙁

I actually paid about 60.00 once on ebay for bareminerals loose eyecolors sex on the beach. I love the color but I probably shouldn’t have paid that much for it. Yes, I have a problem lol. But I never buy overpriced like that.

  • Iris

Ouch at the price. I hope no one buys it. I once purchased the Ashanti Precious Jewel body shimmer stick (back when they were in-style) from Ebay. I was obsessed with shimmer sticks and purchased them in any fragrance available. My local shops had run out/were never carrying them again. This was before the huge US to Canada shipping increase. I paid around the same amount, including shipping, I would have in-store for it. I think I paid only a dollar Canadian or so more. Nowadays, I’d not pay more on eBay and just be more vigilant about purchasing the item when it comes out.

Well those of us in Australia have had to rely on ebay for nearly all of your mid range palettes in the past, simply because they were not available here in Australia. It was fine when our dollar was great compared to yours, but in the past few years it has been very expensive to order through ebay. Then you have the international shipping costs – you know $15 for a lipstick! At least we can now get some of UD, Too Faced etc through Mecca Maxima – but a UD Naked palette does cost $81.
I would not pay $500 for an eye shadow palette … ever.

WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE WANT THIS UGLY ASS STINKY THING??????

I am so over Too Faced and everything they stand for. Their bottom is going to fall out sooner rather than later.

I’ve purchased a couple of eyeshadows on ebay…one for me, one for my friend for her bday…it was from the MAC Lure Collection…Sea Myth…I forget how much it was, but it wasn’t TOO over the top. $500 is stupid though. That could feed a family for a few weeks….

The most I’ve ever spent on a palette was $100 it was for the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette a few years ago, I missed out when it first launched. I had given up hope on ever getting my hands on one since it was a very rare find and some go to $200 + who knows by now ,,, but luckily one day I saw it on Ebay for a hundred and snatched it up, I do not regret it, Still have it/use it –I love that palette and it has lots of their permanent shadows plus– I love Alice in Wonderland, but $500 no way not ever unless it’s like a huge lot of never-gonna-run-out-of-makeup for life kit lol :p too much when I can use it for lots of nice things spread out over time 🙂
