Don’t Blind Buy Armani Si Rose

si rose

I narrowly escaped purchasing the new Armani Si Rose Perfume online recently. So I read about the new Si Rose formula on a variety of fragrance forums and blogs as early as December and I simply couldn’t wait to get my hands on it as I’m such a lover of the original juice.

Apparently this new formula would have a heavier rose note with the gorgeous Vanilla base from the original Si fragrance.

Sounds good right?

I thought so.

It’s also an easy enough blind buy for me because hey, I loved the original why wouldn’t I love a rose version right?

Don’t make the mistake I almost made!

Thankfully I stopped at Macy’s recently and happened about Si Rose before I purchased it online. If you recall Ralph Love was a rather big disappointment for me since it smelled so much like the original.

Well, you might have guessed it, that’s the problem with Si Rose.

Initially Si Rose starts out with a blast of gorgeous rose notes but the base is created with all the same notes as the original juice thus as it sets and dries down it basically smells the same as the original.

Le sigh.

What a crushing disappointment.

Moral of the story?

If Si Rose has had your eye recently beware and don’t blind buy it online. Head in to store, mist yourself madly, walk around a bit, and decide if you need it or not after wearing it for a several minutes.

Promise you’ll thank me later!

I don’t recommend blind buying any fragrance. Some fragrance descriptions sound perfect, but when you try it on it may not work with your chemistry, be too weak or too strong, or just smell different than what you were expecting. If I don’t have a store near me that sells a particular scent I am interested in I often wait to buy a sample online from The Perfumed Court, Surrender to Chance, or Lucky Scent. I usually buy a few samples of different perfumes at a time to make the shipping worth it. It is so much better to spend a few dollars on sample than to blind buy an expensive perfume only to hate it.

I really dislike it when perfume brands bring out so many variations of a great scent when really it is the same scent……
Lucky for you that you decided to check it out for yourself.
