E.L.F. Aqua Beauty Radiant Gel Lip Stain ($4) are a new, limited sheer lip stain that launched with the E.L.F. Aqua Beauty Spring 2016 Collection. OMG I used to be the biggest lip stain junkie in the world. Things tapered down a few years ago but I seriously wasn’t myself if I wasn’t wearing a cheerful shade of red lip stain!

So of course, for nostalgic reasons, I decided to haul a few E.L.F. Aqua Beauty Radiant Gel Lip Stains for myself.

E.L.F. Radiant Gel Lip Stain

E.L.F. Aqua Beauty Radiant Gel Lip Stain are available in three shade selections and promise a refreshingly light gel formula that feels cool on contact with lips and provides a flush of color that gives that just bitten lip look. These are apparently created with purified water to hydrate lips.

Each stain is 0.20 oz in size and comes in a clear barrel with a colorful aqua cap. It’s cute packaging for E.L.F. and I’m really liking the idea of them potentially doing a few limited edition collections like this seasonally!

I liked these a lot but they aren’t terribly long wearing for a lip stain but I honestly didn’t mind too much since the longer stain wears, the drier my lips become. I got about two hours wear on two of the shades and the darkest shade, Red Orange Wash I got about three hours of wear. During the wear I never felt like the stain dried my lips out. They weren’t terribly hydrating but they weren’t drying either.

They do in fact have a gel-like consistency as promises but this breaks down once they hit lips and the formula becomes thinner and watery. They feel quite comfortable with the very lightest burst of moisture during the initial application but it isn’t hydration that lasts but thankfully the formula isn’t drying either. I didn’t notice and flavor or fragrance here if anything they were a tiny bit bitter when I licked my lips! I did feel the tingly coolness that was promised and my lips kinda felt like a puff of cool air hit them. They have fairly ok pigmentation and are obvious enough on lips that they don’t look completely natural.

For the most part, both Dewy Berry and Rouge Radiance looked the same on my lips but Red Orange Wash was considerable more pigmented and different from the other two shades.

All in all, E.L.F. Aqua Beauty Radiant Gel Lip Stain are a cute and inexpensive lip stain that makes it easy to get quick, pretty color on lips!

Any chance you’ll be reviewing the new Milk Makeup lip stain? I’m intrigued by its roll-on applicator.

they aren’t the best stain I ever tried but they aren’t the worst either 🙂 they are a nice, light stain for the budget price 😀

These are all really pretty! I have a love/hate relationship with stains, but for $4 a pop, these might be worth a try. 🙂
