Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick Review & Swatches
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21) launches in 16 shades selections recently for Spring 2016 at Sephora.com. This formula promises the staying powder of a stain and the color payoff of a liquid lipstick with a matte finish as well as avocado oil and vitamin E to keep lips moist.
I didn’t really love the Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipsticks so I was kinda sorta on the fence about Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick. Add in the fact, that Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipsticks aren’t getting the best reviews around plus I dislike liquid lipstick in general and I was a little worried about this purchase.
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick (0.4 oz) come housed in an unusual triangular-shaped clear bottle with a sponge-tipped applicator for application. The packaging is quite different and pretty.
I think the formula might take some getting used to if you enjoy liquid lipsticks as this is like no formula I’ve tried in this category before. I find the formula a lot thinner in consistency than other liquid lipsticks I personally own or have tried in the past. It’s not only thin but a bit runnier as well but this didn’t hinder the application process at all and it applied perfectly fine with a smooth, even finish on my drier, flakier lips without accentuating dryness. I failed to see the moisture factor here but I didn’t feel like they drained moisture from my lips either. They do take a few seconds to set and remain “wet” for about 50 or so seconds before setting to a matte finish.
I read a lot of reviews that they clung to drier areas, flaked, and one of the bigger rants was the fact that the formula was so thin. Personally I didn’t experience these issues at all. They actually wear really lightweight and I didn’t even feel like I had anything at all on my lips all day. The finish remains smooth, even, and the color intense through a 12 hour wear with eating and drinking in that time frame. They aren’t easy to remove so you do need to scrub a little at the end of the night to get them off even when using an oil-based makeup remover. This I disliked because it made my lips raw and chapped. But I wouldn’t say the formula dried my lips out at all during the wear.
Personally, I’m not a long wearing lipstick kinda girl but these Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick were quite nice. Lightweight, pigmented, easy to apply, and long wearing these should be a hit for those wanting a new take on liquid lipsticks.
