Laura Geller Fruit Punch Baked Blush-n-Brighten Review & Swatches
Laura Geller Fruit Punch Baked Blush-n-Brighten is one of two new shades the brand recently introduced to their Baked Blush-n-Brighten Collection. It’s no secret that I really love Laura Geller’s baked blushes! They have a beautiful, radiant finish with an easy to apply formula that always looks incredibly flawless and luminous.
I purchased both Fruit Punch and Peach Delight but I was quite disappointed with Peach Delight since the formula was so very different from what I’ve come to known and expect from these blushes.
Laura Geller Fruit Punch Baked Blush-n-Brighten ($28) is a bright pinkish coral and considerably nicer than Peach Delight but still there does seem to be a formula change overall with this blush. I’m not sure what happened with Peach Delight but that formula was a little thicker and powdery compared to older shades I have in this formula.
In the case of Fruit Punch, again the texture seems a little powdery, but it isn’t nearly as bad as Peach Delight thankfully. I just feel like the older shades were a truer baked formula with a very smooth, refined texture that applied flawlessly on cheeks. The newer formula seems a little inconsistent to me with Fruit Punch being the better of the two newest shades. Although powdery this applies fine on my cheeks with a luminous, glowing finish and an excellent wear of eight hours. I felt like the old formula applied a little more flawlessly and smoothing than this new formulation but regardless Fruit Punch still managed to look very nice, wears very long, and had plenty of pigment to go sheer or bold.
I was a little disappointed with the color. It wasn’t as bright on my cheeks as it was in the pan. I thought it would be a pinky coral pop but it was more a subdued pink on my cheeks!
I could be crazy but Laura Geller Fruit Punch and Peach Delight Baked Blush-n-Brighten aren’t quite what I know and love from the Baked Blush-n-Brighten formula. Fruit Punch is definitely the lesser of the two evils here but I am left wondering, “What fix it when it isn’t broken?”
