What Makeup and Beauty Are You Currently Hoarding?

No matter how simple and organized a person you might be I bet you have at least one makeup, beauty, or skincare product you are currently hoarding. You may be hoarding it because you’re scared that it’ll be discontinued, or maybe you just love and don’t wanna be without it, whatever the reason I bet you have at the very least one item you’re hoarding at the moment.

So spill it, what makeup and beauty are you currently hoarding?

Mine almost always stays the same! I always have a really big stash (I won’t admit the amount of bottles I have) of Bath and Body Works Hand Soap. I have this weird obsession with them. I may need therapy.

I’m also hoarding Em The Great Cover Up Concealer because after the site shut down briefly earlier last fall I had a panic attack that I would be without my favorite concealer.

I’m also hoarding Lush Dirty Perfume like nobody’s business. I’m scared Lush will decide to axe it one day so everytime I do a Lush order I end up ordering a bottle of Dirty.

I think if you’re a makeup addict you’re also a bit of a hoarder too. It seems to come hand in hand!

    Blushes! I’m good for the zombie apocalypse. Lol. Cliniques check pops, Kikos soft pressed blushes, OMG! I bought all but two shades!!!! So soft and Pretty!!!

    Mostly bath stuff. I bought a bunch of Soap & Glory Rich and Foamous and Smoothie Star lotion when it was BOGO at Ulta, and TIGI Color Goddess when it was B2G1. I also have a TON of deluxe mascara samples, though. I’m still trying to find the holy grail mascara so I don’t mind trying pretty much everything (I have a feeling Guerlain Maxi Lash is going to be the eventual winner, though).

    I too have a big a$$ stash of the BBW deep cleansing hand soaps, but in my defense (Hey, there’s always an excuse, right?) DH uses them a lot, and I don’t complain b/c I *finally* got him to stop use Dawn dish soap to wash his hands, and then listen to him gripe that his hands were “so dry”… (headdesk….) So we go thru quite a bit of the soap. I usually stock up in teh Fall – I love the fall fragrances that BBW puts out.

    For me well…. I have at least 4 bottles of cleansing oil and 2 jars of cleansing balm that are presently untouched… Oh, and at least 6 different bottles of facial oils of various types and brands (maybe more, I’m too embarrased to take a real count….) but I’m planning on getting another one when sephora has it’s spring sale coming up in a couple weeks (assuming it happens)

    Iz pathetic. (but clean and well moisturized!) 😀

    Foundations and really more than that. LOL I have an order coming today from Sephora and just got three a month ago . I get them in different shades because I love the sun and get tan. ( I use sunscreen too 🙂 )Spring has spring and I’m into my med and out of the light foundation. I love being a MU junkie 🙂

    Nothing!!

    I recently went through my stash and got rid of everything that I don’t absolutely love and use at least once a week. I probably gave away 20 blushes/bronzers, 15 eyeliners, 20 brushes and 10 eyeshadow palettes. I threw out anything that was cheap or that didn’t work well at all. And I threw out almost every lippie that I owned, as I rarely used most of them. I am down to my naked 1, naked basics 2, 6 tarte blushes, and 4 chubby lip pencils. I have 1 tinted moisturizer, a finishing powder, a mascara and a powder foundation. And around 15 brushes. It has simplified my makeup routine SO much, and now I am always wearing the looks that I love instead of forcing myself to wear things that I didn’t love, just so they didn’t go to waste.

      Did you have to do a 12 step program to do this? I am in awe! I clean my stash 0ut, but then like bunnies things multiply and my drawers and counter are cluttered again.

      Oh and I hoard Dove shower gel! magnolia and pistachio is the best thing ever created by mankind! I’ve gone thru two bottles and I have three left!

    Urban Decay 24/7 liners, especially the minis. I get a ton of use from them, even the minis, and love how many colors they come in. I try to wait for sets to be on sale before I buy them, though not too long or else they go away.

    I hoard the sample tubes of Guerlain Maxilash Intense. Weirdly the full size does not work as well for me. Some might say I hoard skincare and perfume but they just aren’t as prudent as they should be….or maybe their faves haven’t ever been discontinued. I still curse Clarins for dicontinuing the Extra Comfort Cleansing Cream in the tub.

    I am hoarding those Almay liquid lip balms you didn’t like. I love them and being pregnant I don’t mind the smell as is doesn’t make me nauseous like other brands. I panicked when Target discontinued them and the found them at Ulta. Also the Honest Conpany’s Sweet orange vanilla lip balm for when I go to sleep. They moisturize so well and smell so good that my 2 year old grabs it off my nightstand and applies it ALL THE TIME. He has ruined a few of them as he thinks the dog needs some too :/
    Also mascaras, I think I might try the new waterproof Better than Sex.

      I dunno why I never got on with those! They seemed so nice but I disliked the formula so much! You do have me intrigued on the sweet orange vanilla balm though 🙂 haven’t tried anything Honest yet. haha be careful he isn’t applying to the dog and putting it back on your nightstand ;-D I haven’t tried it yet! I’m not a fan of the original, doubt the waterproof will do it for me!

    I am totally hoarding those green Clinique lipsticks that come in GWPs. So glad that brown lipstick is back in! Haha. Also, like another reader I am hoarding sheet masks. Also, don’t ask how many SPF face lotions I have because wrinkles and sunspots are real and NOT cute!

    I’ve got a huge tote bag full of sheet masks that I brought back from Japan- sure I can get sheet masks here but I swear even the super cheap 100� (~$0.80) ones are better than what I find in stores in the US!
    Also, I currently have seven tubes of elf eyeshadow primer. I’m so paranoid I’m gonna lose it that I need six backups!

    Foundation and blush. I seem to have accumulated 4 It Cosmetics CC creams (2 light, 2 med); 4 It Cosmetics Celebration Foundations (2 light, 2 Med); 2 Too Faced Born This Way Foundations (2 shades); and a pair of It Cosmetics CC Veil cushion compacts. I have summer and winter covered for years. I had the Josie Maran Argan Vitality Fluid, but had to return it after discovering that it broke me out after a few days’ use. Damned QVC!

    I finally depotted my drugstore blushes. Cheap “palette” – a water color paints tin from Michael’s ($3 on sale). A little time with a heat gun and a hot glue gun and I have visible proof that I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE BLUSH!!!! Ugh. It’s a sickness.

    Mally Face Defender. I just ordered a fourth backup. It disappeared from retail sites recently and I panicked, LOL. I’m really hoping that the formula won’t be “improved” with company changes.

    Wet n Wild Fergie Take on the Day shadow primer! I just opened a new one and I have two backups. I panicked when Walgreens put it on clearance. It’s HG!

    Hoarding UD Enigma eye primer – just bought 2 more tubes. Holding on to my Bareminerals loose shadows. Though I don’t use them daily they are still my favorites.

    The better question would be what am I NOT hoarding? Lol!

    Several years ago, I was living out in the middle of nowhere, so on my days off, I’d go into the nearest city and spend the night or two. With a 3.5-hour drive each way, I’d usually go shopping to make the trip worth it. I collected a TON of make-up during that time, which was odd and a little stupid, since I don’t actually wear make-up that much. I still have most of it, and most of it has had little if any use. Eye shadow palettes, tons of lip products, etc. I really need to toss most of it, to be honest, since they’re definitely expired by now.

    I also tend to hoard body wash and lotions. I have to stay completely away from places like The Body Shop and Bath and Body works and that section of TJ Maxx, because I always wind up getting 5 or 6 products every time I go. Eventually, I have a stash of tons of both body wash and hand soaps, so I have to constantly remind myself to shop my collection before I go to the store.

    And perfume. God, I have a ton of perfume. I look at that as more of a collection, though, since I love most of it and they can last for years and years if stored properly. I really do need to go through it before I move again, though, and sell the ones that I’m not in love with (the pitfall of blind-buys and trusting my perfume-crazy friend’s not-so-accurate “oh, try this one, I think you’d love it!” advice, lol).

    I have a few 3 of an Edward Bess Palette, the one with shadows, blush, highlighter and lips. I have duplicates of a few other eyeshadows too, Dior Tender Chic eye quint which isn’t available anymore. Love it.

    I hoard “Buxom” Dolly lip gloss!!!! I don’t know what I would do if they quit making it! It’s just the perfect everyday color. If any one has a good dupe for it PLEASE POST!!! 🙂

    Heh, pretty much everything beauty related. Seriously. I don’t wear makeup as frequently as I buy it, mostly because my skin gets pissed off about most “proper” skin care methods, so using moisturizers, primers, or makeup removers ends up making my skin angry. If I wash it with regular bar soap and water, then leave it alone, its fine. I probably need to sell most of my stash.

    I must admit I do hoard my eye shadow palettes! I have lots of them and love most of them well.
    I also hoard bath and body products – I am a real sucker for a good deal on these – whether it be Natio, Crabtree and Evelyn or L’Occitane. Just love them all.

    Great question! Having many scars from favorites being discontinued, I’m hoarding: MAC fluidline in rich ground (bought my first one, loved, and not a month later it was discontinued, so had to buy more); UD in Riff (love how it looks on me so bought more, just in case); a NYX eyeliner in copper (already discontinued, so bought 4 from Amazon). Wish I’d hoarded: Chanel blush/tempting beige; MAC eyeshadow /Uninterrupted; MAC navy eyeliner — all favorites, all discontinued.

    Unfortunately my favorite perfume ever was discontinued by the manufacturer a number of years ago (Givenchy Organza Indecence). I’ve been buying (and hoarding) bottles off ebay ever since!
    Also hoarding a couple large bottles of Glogg from Lush, as well as the very last of their Smitten hand cream.

        From the look of it fragrance.net has Organza, it’s a different bottle than the Organza Indecence, and a completly different scent. Organza is still in production. And I see bottles of the re-edition they did a few years ago, but from a lot of accounts it’s not the same as the original.
        Heh, I’m picky.

    I have a stash of Proactiv+ skincare…because I keep forgetting to cancel my automated subscription Whoops! Let me just go do that…

    Another is UD 24/7 liners. I have the collectors set from when they released Perversion that’s still relatively untouched, and just bought 4 more with the release of Heartless.

    I used to be REALLY bad for a couple years with all the Nyx pigments and lipsticks until I started having allergies to their products. After that happened, I threw out quite a bit. Anything I didn’t use, was cheap, or if I was afraid it would give me a bad reaction went in the trash.

    However! The experience taught me go through my stuff every time my mascara needs replacing.

    I am hoarding lip colors right now! I LOVVVE the new Revlon Matte liquid lipsticks, even though they’re not truly matte. I actually the fact that give off some shine better! I LOVE them. I’m also starting to hoard the NYX matte lipsticks, they’re an old fave.

    Eyeshadow! I’m on a low-buy as of this weekend. -_- The problem is I work a job where I can only wear a no make-up makeup look but I loooove playing w/eyeshadows but it’s hard making sure I’m giving my stash enough love when I can only wear them 2x/week (weekends). I sometimes put on eyeshadow for the last few hours in the evening after I come from work just because it’s fun and makes me feel pretty–don’t judge! :-O

    I’m pretty proud of myself otherwise because I limit myself everywhere else with a “no more than 3” rule: 3 blushes (one warm, neutral, and cool); 3 lipsticks (one warm, neutral, and cool); 3 foundations (loose, pressed, liquid); and 3 tinted lip balms (which I can actually wear at work; yay!).

    The rest is all under a 1 in, 1 out rule since I consider it my “base” makeup: primer (face and eye), contour (highlighter/bronzer combo), undereye concealer (I might get rid of this; I prefer a luminizing eye cream and don’t use this very often), facial mist, mascara, black pencil & black liquid eyeliner (I use pencil on the bottom and liquid on the top), and a beige pencil to highlight the bottom waterline. 🙂

    B&BW Hand soaps and their candles. It’s the only thing I hoard in massive (almost embarrassing) amounts. I have about 25 hand soaps and about 20 candles.

    I clearly have problems.

    Nude nail polish and red lipstick! *shrug* I’ve been very good at holding myself back lately and haven’t really been tempted by much, but I did indulge in a WnW nude polish and some brand new Broadway lippies… including a red one, naturally. =S
