Catrice Prime & Fine Eyeshadow Base

Catrice Prime & Fine Eyeshadow Base ($5.99) gets added to the permanent collection of Catrice products offered at Ulta and Ulta.com for the Spring 2016 season. The Prime & Fine Eye Shadow Base is a nice little shadow primer for those on a budget.

Take a look!

Catrice Prime & Fine Eyeshadow Base comes housed in a simple square barrel with an attached sponge applicator that’s 0.16 oz in size.

I always feel like there are so few cheap, inexpensive eyeshadow primers at the drugstore especially ones that are well formulated. Catrice does not disappoint (they rarely do in my opinion) with this formula. This is a light, beige pink shade which sets transparent on lids. I wouldn’t say it intensifies the shade of eyeshadows but it does hold them in place, crease-free, for several hours. The formula is thin, light, and easy to blend on my drier lids and it sets to a demi-matte finish which sets a smooth, solid canvas for powder or cream eyeshadow. Eyeshadow applies perfectly on top without pilling or added dryness. If anything at all it actually creates a very nice, smooth area for my shadow to sit atop. I tried it with both creams and powders and in both cases it helped to keep them crease-free for several hours and it also providing lasted color which was quite intense after several of wear without fading.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hmmm! I may have to try this one out to see how it fares on oily hooded lids. I mean, it’s only $6!

This one is my sister’S favourite! I wonder why i haven’t tried it though, I might need to sneak into her room and ‘borrow’ hers xD

Btw, have you tried the Catrice high coverage concealer? It’s great for the price and constantly sold out here in its motherland Germany 🙂
