Hard Candy Look Pro! Illuminate and Strobing Mix-In Drops ($8) is a new highlighter that launched with the Hard Candy Spring/Summer 2016 Collection at Walmart. This is a multipurpose liquid highlighter that can be used alone or mixed with your favorite foundation or other products to create a dewy, radiant glow on cheeks and face.

Hard Candy Look Pro! Illuminate and Strobing Mix-In Drops

No one can’t say that Hard Candy Look Pro! Illuminate and Strobing Mix-In Drops aren’t cutely packaged. This liquid highlighter comes in a tiny glass vial with a push to release dropper that allows you for easy, mess-free application and mixing.

The highlighter is available in a single white iridescent shade which has a slight pink reflection in sunlight. It actually contains absolutely no chunky glitter and shimmer but merely relies on the iridescent finish to capture light and bring it to your complexion. Sadly, the product is very sheer so you might not get the complete “strobing” look you desire with this but more of a sheerer, natural glow which is fine by me considering most highlighters are all about harsher, metallic or glittery glows. I actually liked this which is a rarity as I tend to avoid “glowy” products on my fuller face. This merely created a soft dewiness on my bare skin which I really thought looked pretty with a dab of cheek stain on top!

The formula is very thin and runny but blends easily enough. I prefer using it on my bare skin over my favorite primer (Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer) with a little cheek stain on top. As I mentioned above this create a pretty dewiness but with a very, very subtle radiance. I tried mixing it with foundation but I honestly think the color gets drowned out when mixed with anything. Using it alone produced the best results.

I think if you’re scared of highlighters or you simply don’t like to look overly glowy or radiant these new Hard Candy Look Pro! Illuminate and Strobing Mix-In Drops might be appealing. I liked them since I really don’t apply highlighter very well nor do I even like using it very much. This product provides a subtle glow with a pretty dewiness that looks natural but never harsh!

Hard Candy Look Pro! Illuminate and Strobing Mix-In Drops are available now at Walmart and Walmart.com.

Hmmm… wonder how it would do if you put it *over* foundation instead of mixing it in? I may have to get this and give it a shot! That bottle is just awfully darn cute!

It works well under foundation as well but I thought it looked best with a sheerer foundation or tinted moisturizer!

Cute bottle, but I’ll stick with my powder ones that I can put where I want and not have to fuss with my foundation. I like to add to my foundation and not have to mix anything with it. 🙂 Thanks for the review. xoxoxo

Does this have any pieces of glitter in it? Almost every and any highlighter I use always looks glittery in the sunlight . Which I can’t stand . Any suggestions?

Hi Jen I actually mentioned in the review about the lack of glitter/shimmer. Hope this helps?

Wow! This packaging is just so far out of their norm, it’s kinda weird to see it with the “Hard Candy” name slapped on it.

This kind of looks like my Missha B.B. Boomer. But I really like the packaging on the Hard Candy one, super cute! The Missha packaging is just a squeeze tube.

Thanks for the review. How does this compare to MAC Strobe cream, when using Stobe cream in this way…..Strobe cream leaves a bit of a white cast when I use it like this so I use it as a night moisturizer (often mixed with another moisturizer) since it has good ingredients…..thx
