Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Foundation

I’m all about fresh, weightless coverage come the Summer and Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Skin Foundation ($26) brings it! This lightweight foundation has a second skin-like finish with a formula rich in hyaluronic acid that adds moisture and retains it so you can imagine the smooth, soft finish it has on drier skin.

Let’s take a look!

Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Foundation7

Oh, Armani who needs to pay you $65 when I can get Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Foundation at half the price.

Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Foundation comes housed in a glass bottle with a dropper which easily dispenses small amounts of the foundation. The formula is rich in hyaluronic acid and also contains Vitamin E and creatine which keeps skin soft to the touch.

This is a sheer to medium coverage foundation that’s super lightweight, breathable, and easy to blend. The color pay off is very impressive and should work well to conceal imperfections such as redness, darkness, blemishes, and more. I like it because I can easily customize the coverage to suit my needs. I tend to like a sheerer, lightweight foundation and that’s exactly what I can get with this. The coverage is lightweight with a skin hugging formula that gives a natural, flawless finish.

The consistency of the foundation is creamy yet thin and watery and very reminiscent of Armani’s Maestro Fusion Makeup. It’s quite moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I love how it never dries my skin out and leaves it quite moist through the wear but never dewy, oily, or shiny. It blends very, very easily as well but I would suggest a small amount (three drops or so) during application and proceed with more if you need it since it is quite pigmented. I also love how easily I can mix it with other products such as moisturizer or even another foundation as the dropper not only makes it convenient to do so but the formula itself just works well mixing with other mediums.

I have no issues with it adhering to my drier skin and the coverage is smooth, soft, and second skin-like as promised. The wear is a little shorter since it is quite moist but I don’t mind in the least because it gives my skin such a beautiful, natural finish!

If you’re in the market for a moist foundation that doesn’t oxidize and wears well on drier skin with a weightless finish I’d highly recommend checking out Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Foundation.

I’m really tempted to try this, even though my skin tends to be oily-combination. It looks beautiful and sounds like it has an ideal finish. I wonder how it would stand up to humidity, though. I need to look and see if they’ve got a shade that’s light enough, since generally I’m within the first two shades of pretty much all lines.

On another note, were you able to try Al Rehab Choco-Musk? I’ve been looking around for some new fragrance finds, but I’m trying to save some money right now, since I’m moving to New Orleans in a month (the transfer came out of nowhere about 2 weeks ago, but I’m thrilled). I might have to splurge on Coolife Le Quatrieme Parfum as a gift to myself once I get there, though!

I actually used it late last Summer and did well in the heat but it does seem to fade faster if you’re outside longer so around four hours without setting with powder 😀 I DID! I got several actually not only choco musk and I loved them all so thank you! SHUT UP! You are?! That’s amazing! New Orleans is one of my fav cities! Lots of fun indie places to grab fragrance in NOLA! Check out Hove when you are there (if you haven’t been) and Bourbon Street perfume (their vanilla and also their white ginger is lovely).

Thanks for the recs! I’ve actually never been to New Orleans before, so my trip for house-hunting this weekend will be my first time there. I’ll definitely check out those places! One of my complaints about Miami is that there’s really not that many perfume shops, unless you go to Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom. There’s a couple of smaller places, but they’re not focused on perfumes, and they don’t really have great selection (nothing like Twisted Lily or Aedes in NYC). I’m really looking forward to NOLA’s artisans and indie shops, since I know the city is famous for it.

You can find some very fun finds in New Orleans! They have over 52 of their own fragrances and have been located in the French Quarter for 75 years! http://www.hoveparfumeur.com <---- and Bourbon French Perfums is also a nice place, some of their scents are generic but still really quite nice! http://www.neworleansperfume.com And of course, the French Market offers some unique fragrance oil options (and tarts/wax melts if you’re into them). Sadly, New Orleans has nothing like Twisted Lily, Lucky Scents or Aedes 🙁 But if you’re looking for unique and locally made there’s plenty to be had!

I have been having a love affair with Kiko lately! I love their eye shadows and their liners are amazing, definitely much better than some higher-end ones! I haven’t yet tried any of their foundations though but this sounds right up my alley, girl.

Thanks for the review, fingers crossed they’ll have a shade for me!!

    • Isabella Muse

Me too! I love love love their lipsticks so fab 😀 Let me know if you try Libby!

    Hello Miss Muse,
Is this comparable to Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea Foundation? I loved it but developed a horrible allergy to it within two days- whelps and everything.. I’m still on the hunt for something light, but with good coverage. Thanks Muse.

    • Isabella Muse

Kinda but Rainforest of the Sea is a bit heavier in my experience! This feels lighter to me!

Great review! =) Mmm, not so expensive for a foundation… how do you apply it? I’ve never really figured out how to apply the dropper foundations, I’m so used to pumps where I can pump it onto my fingertip, apply tiny dots where I need on my face, then buff and blend in with a brush or sponge… how do you get the dropper onto your face?? On the back of your hand, then blend in with a brush/sponge? That seems like it would waste so much… =o

    • Isabella Muse

I place a few drops on the back of my hand and swirl my brush in it! No waste!

  • Jess

This sounds gorgeous, I’d be interesting to see how it works with my skin as I’m definitely more on the oily end of the spectrum!

I really like the dropper foundations, they sound great. Keen to try this foundation for myself. Thanks for the review x
