Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Velours

I seriously hate all matte liquid lipsticks except Lancome Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Velours Liquid Matte Lipstick! They get a pass! Please, would someone tell the beauty trend world to stop with all the long wearing soul and moisture-sucking, long-wearing liquid lipsticks! They are brutally harsh on my drier lips!

I just can’t apply a matte liquid lipstick in the morning and wear it for 12 hours. Nooooo! It’s not only dry but difficult to remove, difficult to reapply, just difficult everything!

That’s why I’m now a fond fan of Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Velours Liquid Matte Lipstick!

Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Velours Liquid Matte Lipstick

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Velours Liquid Matte Lipstick is an easy to wear liquid matte lipstick with a velvety finish. Lancome created this formula with such an excellent blend of lightly hydrating oils with a lightweight texture that’s easy to wear yet doesn’t forsake the popular matte liquid lipstick look that’s so popular at the moment.

Honestly, when I first tried them I admit there was some mental eye rolling going on. I thought for sure they’d be a super dry, matte liquid lipstick! But no! These have a soft, fluffy whipped mousse consistency that applies easily and evenly without feathering, migration, or dry issues. They have a pleasantly lightweight consistency that applies smooth without adhering to drier areas. During the initial application, they actually have a very faint shine as can be seen in my photos below but they set within a few seconds to a matte finish. But don’t worry, it isn’t a super dry, tight matte finish. It’s a very thin, weightless formula that adheres to lips like a second skin without adding unnecessary dryness.

Both shades I tried had excellent opaque color coverage with a wear of five hours each. They do have a perfume-y fragrance and flavor that Lancome lip products are known for.

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Velours Liquid Matte Lipstick are for the people that hate long wearing liquid matte lipsticks. These give you a fairly long wear, excellent pigmentation, and a feather light formula that allows you to embrace the matte look without forsaking your soul to get it!

Loves these!

Whoa high praises indeed. When I read the first part of the title I was waving my hand in the air I too hate hate hate all liquid lipsticks I’ve tried and while I haven’t tried them all I find when I wear them like they are like vampires in a tube only instead of blood draining they are sucking the soul of moisture from my entire body. I just didn’t get it. Why do people love them so much? Why? Kat Von D. Colour Pop. Sephora brand. Milani. I’ve tried a fair share before I realized I was wasting my money. If I want a matte look I have plenty of matte lipsticks that are far more comfortable that can do the job. These Lancome liquid lipsticks look lovely on you. I just might have to give them a try!

haha I know what you mean, Lizzie! I just can’t! It’s just so damn dry! I don’t need matte lipstick on my mouth for like 14 hours straight! Totally unnecessary! I really want to try the colourpop ones but I’m scared about the long wear. I just want something light and not dry please!? These fit the bill 😀

My lips have been so dry lately, so I have been staying away from matte lipsticks for a while. These look so pretty, love both shades 😀 x

Man do I ever hear you and agree with you. I am so not on board with this matte lipstick trend, or should I say cement lipstick trend? My lips are as dry as the sahara desert and I’ve always liked a moist, shiny lip. A long time ago in a far away land, liquid lipstick referred to a regular lipstick in liquid form, only with more moisture. Well not anymore. I was in love with the Maybelline Color Elixirs, and they’ve discontinued almost all of the shades now, because of this stupid matte liquid lipstick trend. I’m hoping and praying this trend will come to and end soon, and years from now people will look back and say, “Remember the matte lipstick trend that was so popular in 2015-16?” Thank God that’s over now.

LOL Cindy! Jeez, I hope someone finally comes to their senses and axes the matte liquid 18 hour wear lipsticks! They are awful!

I really dislike liquid lipsticks full stop. Tacky, sticky and drying on my lips. I am not too fond of matte lipsticks either….. so lucky you for finding a liquid lipstick that suits dryer lips.

I dislike both as well! Worse that they’re combined. Can’t wait for this to stop being a trend.
