Sephora Disney Minnie Beauty Perfect Red Lipstick Review & Swatches

Sephora Disney Minnie Beauty Perfect Red Lipstick ($15) is a new, limited edition shade of red lipstick inspired by none other than Minnie Mouse herself. Sephora teams up with Disney yet again this Spring with a collection dedicated to the fashionably chic and oh so cute Miss Minnie Mouse!

The Disney Minnie Beauty Collection is a little different from past Sephora Disney Collection which have concentrated on Disney Princesses! So Minnie fans (and makeup ones) if you’re out there this collection is for you!

Sephora Disney Minnie Beauty Perfect Red Lipstick is a simply stunning presentation for a small price tag (although it is smaller in size too at 0.12 oz). I was a little worried about release as I expressed a good deal of disappointment with the Sephora Jem Collection but I’m experiencing none of the disappointment with Minnie’s Collection.

Minnie’s lipstick comes housed in a box decorated with gold polka dots against a black background with red accents. There’s a Minnie silhouette charm decorating the box which can be removed and used as a cell phone charm or a zipper pull. Inside you’ll find a heavy gold barrel lipstick decorated with black polka dots and Minnie’s little ears peeping from the bottom of the tube. Inside the lipstick is embossed at the tip with Minnie’s silhouette and at the side with her autograph. I have to admit I had the hardest time applying this since I didn’t want to mess up the pretty Minnie design at the tip! It does disappear once you use the lipstick sadly! There’s a good bit of weight behind this packaging which reminds me of past lipsticks Sephora has done with the Pantone Collections like the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Creme Lipstick.

This is a lovely light, hydrating lipstick formula that has a high sheen finish and excellent pigment that wears for five hours. I detected no flavor or fragrance in the formula. It glides on beautifully and hugs lips in lightweight, moisturizing color.

I have to say that Sephora has completely redeemed themselves here! I was so crushed with the Jem Collection but this lipstick alone makes me rejoice and remember that Sephora produces some damn fine makeup.

This is not only gorgeously presented but also wonderfully formulated. It’s a keeper!
