Tarte Double Duty Beauty Palette

The Tarte Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek Palette in Classic Courage is one of two palettes that launched with the Ulta Exclusive Tarte Double Duty Beauty Collection. Each of these makeup palettes contains one full-size blush and five eyeshadows as well as a how to get the look guide.

Let’s tale a look!

Tarte Classic Courage Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek Palette

Unlike the new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek Palette isn’t a newly formulated eyeshadow or blush formula. This palette contains the formula we know and love from Tarte. I was a little disappointed; I’d like to see more of that new eyeshadow formula but none the less this palette still contains some excellent product and for those interested it is made in the US.

The compact is a larger square that should travel easily enough as it has a strong magnetic closure. The compact has a gold lame with a large mirror inside and an inspired phrase on the front face plate that reads, “She Dreamed, She Believed, & She Succeeded.”

This palette contains:

  • Rise & Shine Eyeshadow (beige)
  • Lucky Penny Eyeshadow (rosy copper)
  • Trailblazer Eyeshadow (brown)
  • Rosy Outlook Eyeshadow (rose gold)
  • Smile On Eyeshadow (dark brown)
  • Courage Blush (nude pink)

The eyeshadows in the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek Palette have a soft, silky, slightly powdery consistency that applies easily with excellent pigmentation. The palette contains a mix of satin and matte finish shadows, and I can’t say I had a single issue with any of the shades! All performed very well. The palette’s color scheme reminds me a little bit of the Clinique Strawberry Fudge Palette with shades of pink and contrasting brown as well as a few plummy shades. It’s a nice selection of coordinating shades that go well. I really like the dusky nude pink blush in this palette as well but it is a little powdery in consistency but still very nice shade that blends easily enough.

This palette is lovely formula wise and has a nice roundup of colors that go well together, however, it is a bit repetitive from what we’ve seen from Tarte in the past. The blush quite reminds me of the shade that I have in the Rainforest After Dark Palette and many of the eyeshadows have been done before in other palettes I already own from Tarte. So if you are headed in for a purchase, you might want to head into your stash and make sure you aren’t getting your hands on a palette that contain shades you might already own!

The Tarte Double Duty Beauty Eye & Cheek Palette is available now exclusively at Ulta and Ulta.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’m wearing this today! I really like this little palette. I had first purchased its sister palette, “Star Power,” but returned it because the blush was full of glitter. Not cute on a late 40-something xD

Yay! I’m really liking it too! It’s a nice shade selection! Although some of the shades I kinda sorta already have from past palettes but none the less still lovely 😀

  • blee

You make it look pretty. I love the blush so natural looking. 🙂

  • Janessa

I want this little palette so badly, and just for that Lucky Penny color. I feel like I have enough Tarte blushes and I was thinking this looked similar to the Rainforest and Energy Noir palettes (and I MAY or MAYNOT have just ordered the new Tartiest blush palette last night from Ulta with my 20% off). I’m sure I have a palette that has a close enough dupe in it.

I felt like I had seen these shades before but I don’t mind or at least some variation of them but it still a really pretty palette 😀 Ahhh! It’s a good one enjoy 😀

      • Janessa

My exact justification… “its a variation..” haha I think I’ll end up with it after all. Are you going to be reviewing the other one like this?

        • Isabella Muse

that’s my excuse for everything! “OHHH! What a gorgeous brown eyeshadow! I need it because it doesn’t look anything at all like the other 500 I have!” 😀 yup! This week I hope!

  • PDO

Yeah the colors are similar to other Tarte offerings, however I feel like this little palette would be perfect for traveling. Eye shadows and blush in one little palette.

  • Lori

I *might* have gotten both of these palettes (not at the same time) lol… I had and returned the Tartelette Tease palette but when I swatched these in store I was like “oooooh!!!” These are the only Tarte I own. I think the colors are really good and $28?? Great deal!!

  • Katherine T.

I swatched this in store, and all of the shadows were smooth and pigmented, the blush was kind of muted, but pretty. I’m thinking of getting this during Ulta sale, very convenient for travel or touch ups at work.

  • Jean

Looks a lot like their old stuff but I already bought it. I would’ve bought it had I known anyway lol. I swear, they can pump out the same colors again and again in different packages and I’d keep buying them. There’s something about tarte.

  • Lori

Off topic, Muse, but what are you wearing on your lips? I love that color on you, with a little bit of shine ~ it’s very pretty!

  • Tash

Thanks for the great review!! 😀 Since Tarte is on sale I’m debating whether to get this or the Rainforest After Dark Palette. I really need a second opinion! 🙁 🙂
