About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This is on my “loves” list. It will be good to have this summer.

I will wait for your review as I am combination oily (tzone) and then just plain oily when it warms up. I tried their mattifying primer under Nars Velvet Matte because that is what the sales associate recommended. It looked fantastic in the store but after shopping another 45 minutes when I made it to the mirror in the car I was VERY shiny and most of the makeup wiped off especially under my chin and on my nose. So maybe this will be the magic combination. Anxiously awaiting your review.

I’m too dry to test right now boooo! But maybe later in the Summer!

    • Kristi

That sucks! I’ve had the completely different experience with those 2 products together-I’m a matte girl all day.

One of the best oil control products I’ve used is bare minerals mineral veil. It’s almost too dry at times!

I really want to try this out for my oily tzone. Which garnier moisturizer are you trying out? I recently saw a new one with spf.

    • Isabella Muse

I believe it is called Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Actively Hydrating Daily Lotion

  • Francesca

Interesting!! I think makeup drop are the new thing, I like it. I don’t think I need this product but is it bad that I sort of want it..

  • Diane

The garnier actives moisturizer?! I’ve been using it about 2 months and really like it but it does leave me shiny. Then again I’m always shiny. I need these drops especially for summer!!

I believe it’s called Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Actively Hydrating Daily Lotion! It leaves me greasy as hell! And I’m dry so this is a novelty ha!

  • Mae

Ahh, oily skin is my biggest insecurity but I’m not sure if I can afford a $42 mattifier…..I guess I’ll have to wait for your review? 😉

  • Joy

So did you try this?? I wish you you post more reviews than advertisements.

    • Isabella Muse

No, sorry I haven’t Joy. It literally just launched at Sephora so haven’t had a chance to try it out. Sorry, you feel it’s an advertisement. I post anywhere from 10 to 20 reviews a week so I’m pretty on top of things I think!? Hope!? 🙂

I was so excited to see the news about this product but then noticed it’s got a lot of alcohol in the formula. Bummer!

Don’t let grumpy comments get you down. You do plenty for the people who read your blog and I’m thankful for it every day!
