Erborian Yuza Double Lotion Not as Full of Vitality as Promised
Sephora recently offered a deluxe size sample of Erborian Yuza Double Lotion with your online order so I decided to give a little try out! I happen to embrace the Korean essence trend to the max! This started when I tried out Sana Hadanomy Collagen Lotion about six years ago. Ever after that, I always start my skin care routine with a good, moisturizing essence.
Erborian is an herbal Korean brand that launched around January (correct me if I’m wrong on that time frame). It’s a brand that I haven’t really played with myself so I was curious to try out for size so the sample couldn’t have come at a better time.
Erborian Yuza Double Lotion is an interesting essence as it isn’t a traditional formula. This is a bi-phase formula that resembles Garnier’s new Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof Makeup Remover. The lotion has two phases that when combined apparently provide nourishment and radiance to skin. It also reminds me of The Body Shop’s Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Essence Lotion but unlike that formula this fails to absorb well!
Erborian Yuza Double Lotion unfortunately has a good deal of fragrance. It has a very pleasant, zesty citrus aroma but the fragrance is very strong and might be disturbing to sensitive users. I typically enjoy fragrance in my skin care but I thought this was a bit too much.
Apparently the lotion is enriched with yuzu that contains antioxidants. The formula has an oily phase and a water phase which can be shaken up into a lotion. It’s a runny texture with a slightly oily consistency when applied on skin. It does leave behind a slightly oily film which I didn’t particularly like. Once you apply moisturizer over it that isn’t an issue but I still didn’t love the film that it left behind.
Now this formula is supposed to be great for duller, tired skin. That’s so me! My skin is dry thus dull and tired looking. Unfortunately, the “supple and full of vitality” look that was promised in the marketing wasn’t what I got after using this. I used the sample completely before reviewing it and some might argue the sample is too small to see a difference in my skin. But honestly, I didn’t experience much using this in my daily routine not even moisture. I just felt like the formula sat on my dry skin unnaturally and never fully absorbed!
I’m quite happy with the essences I currently use like Dr Jart Ceramidin Liquid and Erborian Yuza Double Lotion isn’t a formula that will be taking me away from those beloved favorites any time soon.
Erborian is sold at Sephora.com.
