Maybelline the bolds lipstick

Let’s see we have Rebel Bloom, Creamy Mattes, The Buffs, and The Vivids, what am I missing? How about Maybelline the Bolds? The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Collection will get a bold remake for Summer 2016!

Maybelline’s Color Sensational Bolds Lip Color is a new line of intensely colored lipsticks with a creamy clase base that provide one stroke opaque color. These are apparently loaded with pigment but honestly, I’ve never really had much of a problem with pigment from the any of the Color Sensational Lipsticks I’ve tried.

What sets this new collection apart from other colors in the Color Sensational Collection are the colors. Sure, there are bright, bold reds here and even natural nudes but Maybelline also gets a little daring with a pure white shade, electric blues, and even a rich black hue. Outside of NYX, mainstream drugstore brands aren’t exactly known for going daring with alternative colors like blue and black in their lipstick ranges. So, Maybelline is definitively headed outside its comfort zone here.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I saw these yesterday at Target but unfortunately, they did not carry the white. Very interesting to include a white. The Sapphire Siren shade was very popular in the display. I have to agree about the pigment– all of their Color Sensational line has been way pigmented and long-wearing for me. Guess it’s just being mentioned as a marketing thing?

I’ve never had a prob with pigment that’s for sure. Maybe these are even more saturated?! 😀 one can hope!

I bought the Gone Greig one. I didn’t notice any difference between these and older ones but I do like the shade.

Those colors look great, but I cant get passed the smell to keep these on my lips 🙁 🙁 🙁

I hate lipsticks with a chemical smell (I’ve stayed away from Revlon for years because of that) but natural scents like vanilla and berry don’t bother me — what do these smell like?

I haven’t tried them yet but I assume they have the same play doh-like taste and fragrance as the other Color Sensational Lipsticks!

The plums and nudes look interesting, and so do the third and fourth from the bottom. We’re going to Target tomorrow (the poor husband needs a new bedside lamp — I swear, that man is death on lamps) so I’ll check these out. I’ll check out Walmart on Sunday morning when I go for groceries, too.

Nice! So far I’ve been pleasantly surprised by maybellines lippies that came out past year or so like the mattes especially. I bet these would be good! My budget can’t afford any makeup right now but hopefully they will still be around when I’m able tel pick at least one up.
Side note- deep blue looks surprisingly nice on my pale cool complexion! I tried a sample from an indie company awhile back and used it up wearing it on nights out! I can’t buy any shades I would wear that infrequently right now but I just wanted to say to others who haven’t ever tried unusual colors that you may be surprised!
