Maybelline Master Precise Curvy Liquid Liner5

I picked up the Maybelline Master Precise Curvy Liquid Liner earlier last week with the some other goodies from the Maybelline Summer 2016 Collection. And I even managed not to poke an eye out while using it. Yeah, that’s been known to happen on more than one occasion. I’m such a n00b with liquid eye liner! I have not, after many years of hard work, mastered it. I’m just not good with application nor have I managed to gain access to the cat eye insider’s club. I have a theory that everyone who says “the flick” is easy to achieve is actually lying to me.

Naa, seriously, I envy those who can do awesome cat eye looks with liquid liners. Personally, I don’t think I have the skill nor the right eye shape for it.

Damn!

But, I decided to give Maybelline Master Precise Curvy Liquid Liner a try anyway!

Maybelline Master Precise Curvy Liquid Liner ($6.99) comes housed in an oblong, oval shaped plastic compact. The lid pops off to reveal a paddle or hourglass shaped applicator. I found the applicator intriguing as I can’t say I’ve ever seen another liquid eyeliner that has an applicator like this. If you like thicker lines this applicator is quite great for creating them. And hey, if you need to re-line or fill in you can turn it on its side and use the thinner end. The paddle shape was created to hug your lash line to create the perfect curved line. Although oddly shaped there’s still a precise felt point at the end you can use to create your “flick”.

Note: I’ll update shortly with swatches.

I find it fits very comfortably into my hand and I felt like I had plenty of control during application. It isn’t a bulky applicator and feels lightweight in my hand and I had a very good grip on it. I think the odd shape might make people wonder if it’ll be awkward to use but I honestly, had no issues with it.

Speaking of awkward…

The applicator itself is quite unique and perhaps a little awkward looking but again, I experienced no problems using it. It does create thicker lines and creating thinner ones can be challenging. If you want a thinner line this might not be the liner for you.

It applied easily without tugging or having to go back and re-line. The color was quite pigmented and flowed easily as I applied without smearing. I have drier eyes and I wore it in both cooler and warmer weather without having any smearing or flaking issues. It also removed easily at the end of the night!

If you’re an expert with liquid eyeliner you should be right at home with the Maybelline Master Precise Curvy Liquid Liner! It a great tool for creating thicker, richly lined looks.

I have hooded eyes, and plus now they are starting to sag because I’M OLD lol, so the flick just never worked for me.

    • Isabella Muse

no sag yet but I just don’t think I have the eyes for a flick!

I have hooded eyes too and I see the sag in my not-too-distant future. I think the only “flick” that works on me is the more subtle kitten flick with gel eyeliner.

    It looks really great!
I also tried the Curvy new launch last week and I thought it was great. We can choose between finer and thicker lines and it also goes off wuite easily.
The price is also very great and it’s the perfect size to put into a purse for a make up retouch 🙂
    Awesome
