Bath & Body Works Black Cherry Merlot Does Smell Like the Hand Soap

Talk on the Bath & Body Works front recently is that the newly formulated Bath & Body Works Black Cherry Merlot does in fact smell like the hand soap. Slay me, I die. Honestly, I’m all for Bath & Body Works releasing more candles that smell like their hand soaps! Yes, please!

Black Cherry Merlot was released last year in the Cork and Vine Candle Collection and there was much excitement and buzz surrounding it because so many people love the hand soap version. For me the hand soap smells like kindergarten! Seriously, one of my first memories of going to school was the cookies and fruit juice they used to give us and if nothing at that’s exactly what the hand soap smells like. Oh, not the cookie part, the juice part! It’s beyond sweet with a mix of delicious cherries and other fruit notes.

Now, the candle was a crushingly disappointing! It smelled nothing like the hand soap! Le sigh!

But there’s good news to be had! According to WhitebarnCandlefan on Instagram the newly formulated and just released version of the Bath & Body Works Black Cherry Merlot does in fact smell like the hand soap!

I can’t confirm because I haven’t technically smelled it yet but it is available at bathandbodyworks.com and should be at stores shortly. I can’t wait to sniff it! Honestly, they need to do an entire Black Cherry Merlot Collection that includes a fragrance mist and body products as far as I’m concerned but for now I’ll settle for a dozen of the candles if they really do smell like the hand soap!
