Becca Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo2

Late last month the new Becca Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo ($38) launched in four gorgeous shades. These new Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos are part of the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection that arrived earlier this Summer. I actually purchased the stunning Champagne Face Palette when it originally launched but it sold out too quickly for me to serve up a review so, it’s now in my makeup vault. Sometimes I take it out to tell it how pretty it is.

No seriously though, I packed that palette with me when I went on vacation and used it daily! Which surprised me as I did have an inkling to hide it away and never use it again because it was too beautiful. I admit I felt the same way Becca Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos. They really evoke a need to stash them away all Gollum-like! My precious!

These come packaged in Becca’s customary packaging which to me resembles a chic hub cap. But instead of the brown and silver they typically use for their compacts, these duos come in a gorgeous gold compact with silver accents and a generously sized mirror located inside. Each pan is 0.28 oz in size and split down the middle with a Shimmering Skin Perfector on one side and a matte Mineral Blush on the other side. Shimmering Skin Perfector is 0.28 and $38 so, this is a great value as it’s like buying a Shimmering Skin Perfector and getting a blush for free.

I have to admit I’m no highlighter or strobing genius. I tend to over apply highlighter to the point I glow in the dark. You know that meme that’s circulating about seeing your highlighter from the Moon? That’s me. You can venture to a galaxy far, far, far away but I’ll be your beacon here on Earth so you can find your way home. That made me a little scared of trying Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector. I was right to be scared because they aren’t exactly for the amateurs out there. But the good news is, they aren’t completely impossible to apply with a little patience. And hey, if you’re an expert in the highlighter department you shouldn’t have any issues.

I love I have options with this duo because I can apply the blush without following up with the highlighter or vice versa. Although I will say, using them together is where the magic is!

I haven’t tried Shimmering Skin Perfector before so, I can only relate to you my experience with the formula in the splits. The highlighter have a soft almost creamy consistency with flakier shimmer particles when a brush is swiped through them. Although some powder is kicked up as you swipe, I wouldn’t say the formula was difficult to control or apply. Another words, it isn’t falling all over your face during application. The powder adheres to my brush well and I can easily buff it in without a bunch if chunky shimmer/glitter falling down around my face. I recommend a fan brush for the initial swipe across your cheek bones and follow up with a fiber brush with softer bristles to gently buff it in. The finish has a very strong sheen with a gorgeous glow. It’s very easy to over apply the highlighter which can result in it sticking to drier areas or emphasizing pores. Start out with a very soft layer and build as needed for the best finish. Believe me when I say a little goes a very long way. This is equally true for the blush shades which are highly pigmented.

I’m not sure if I was successful but I tried to be as light as possible with the highlighter in my photos below as I tend to be very heavy handed with application of blush, highlighters, powders, etc…!

I thought the blushes delightful! I have so few matte blushes and these worked as a beautiful companion to the highlighter as they are absolutely shimmer-free which means you’ll rely on the highlighter portion of the duo to create a beautiful luminosity over your blush application. The blush has a soft, silky consistency that blended easily and as I mentioned above a little goes a very long way! In some of my photos above you can tell I over did things with the blush. Start out with less and build as needed! I applied in a variety of different ways one of which evolved applying the highlighter over the blush to get a glow-y finish. Or you can swipe the highlighter across the tops of cheek bones to create that coveted strobing look you’ve likely came across on Instagram.

Becca Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos are such a gorgeous way to add a luminous glow to your face. I really enjoyed these and I find myself hoping Becca will release some new shades for the Holiday season!

But I digress, there’s still plenty of Summer left and the best way to get a gorgeous glow would definitely be one of these Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos!

They are positively delicious!

I I always thought their packaging looked like flying saucers! each time i use Becca products, aliens are invading my bathroom and are going to take over planet Earth =D
at Penny’s on Saturday, they had quite a few of the blush/highlighter pallets; they must be starting to be able to meet the demand for the product.
those colors look wonderful on you!

    • Isabella Muse

I always got a hub cap vibe from them! kind of like UD’s old eyeshadows! lol! I wouldn’t be averse to Aliens abducting me while I applied my makeup! It looks like most of them are in stock at Sephora too which is great because I hate to review and create lemmings that can’t be fulfilled. Nothing more frustrating than reading a review and not being able to buy the product! It’s why I never reviewed the face palette! I didn’t want to disappoint anyone haha! Aw thanks! I’m not really good at application but I had SUPER fun with these which surprised me as I’m not much for using highlighter!

I’m crossing my fingers they release Amaretto on its own. I definitely have more interest in the splits than the initial palette but Prosecco Pop is far to dark for me. I just want that Amaretto blush!

I ordered two and then returned them the next day. I own the palette that was just released so I thought do I really need this? I like them, but I was trying to be realistic as to if I would ever hit pan on the palette. So I returned the 2 that I got and purchased the benefit cheekathon palette since I didn’t own any benefit blushes (shock, right………?)

    • Isabella Muse

you told me! I can’t believe it 🙂 But if you have the palette it is understandable!

  • Robin Burris

I’ve never tried anything by Becca, but these look so pretty on you that I have to check them out now.

I wonder if they will re release the eyeshadow palette? I heard it was pulled due to poor quality. It looked pretty.

    • Isabella Muse

aw thank you Robin! I’m not sure! Maybe it’ll be reformulated and re-released at some point. I purchased it when it launched but I didn’t use it yet! It really is quite lovely looking 😀

  • Kaycee

On the Sephora website, it says each pan is 0.13 oz and 0.15 oz making a total of 0.28oz for the whole compact. I’m not sure if that’s a misprint or not, so just wanted to make sure.

  • Tabitha

I’ve read reviews saying the Becca splits were of less quality (less pigment/ more fallout) than the previous highlight & blush singles & palette products they released & I have some of those so I put off buying the splits but seeing your photos, they look so great! The packaging tho!!!! Ugh it’s so pretty idk if I’ll be able to stay strong…

    • Isabella Muse

I haven’t tried the original so can’t compare the two formulas but I was happy with the splits, they worked quite nicely for me! Although they are super super shimmery so a little goes a long way, aside from that, I was happy with application 😀 haha! I know! It’s hard to resist these!

  • Charlotte

They look so gorgeous! Do you have swatches of the prosecco /pamplemousse duo? There seems to be lots of the champagne / flowerchild but none of that one (and that’s the one I’m interested in!) TY x

    • Isabella Muse

All four shades are swatched in this post. Hope this helps!

      • Charlotte

Thank you. I think my computer must be playing up then! It lists flowerchild under the pics 5 times for the swatches (face and arm) and the only pic that has pamplemousse under it is the pic of the product itself.
I think they have sold out here now anyway .. they went so fast 🙁
