Better later than never right? My Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette review is all kinds of late but it’s great, promise! Becca released two ombre eyeshadow palettes last year, both of which I purchased but for some reason they got pushed way down my “to be reviewed” pile. I hate when this happens as it potentially means I’m missing out on something terrific.

That would be the case with the Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette because I’ve had it for an entire year, never used it until recently, and now I’m kicking myself for not using it sooner because I simply adore it.

No one panic. I understand I’ve been saying “I love and I like” a lot around matte eyeshadows and matte eyeshadows lately. I must be getting old, embracing my natural, simple side, or mattes are just way better formulated nowadays!

Either way, the Ombre Rouge Eye Palette is a must have.

Becca Ombre Rouge

The Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette ($40) is a five shade, warm, neutral palette that contains both matte and satin finish eyeshadows. The palette comes housed in a simple but chic brown metallic palette with a generously size mirror.

The shade range is an interesting one with colors that range from medium pink to a warm peach and even a darker reddish brown. It’s an interesting assortment of shades that coordinate and play well together without going muddy.

I’m always looking for sandy dune shades like Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick. It’s a shade I haven’t always been successful duplicating. I wouldn’t say any shades in this palette are exactly like it but the 4th shade in the palette is a peachy sandy dune shade which I love using as a color wash on my eyes for a natural look. It sheers out beautifully and looks a little like my beloved Bobbi Brown Sand Dune shade. Speaking of natural looks all the colors in this palette are ideal color washes as they can be applied lightly to accent eyes but work well as a base for a more dramatic eyeliner. I always feel terribly overly made up if I do a cat eye with a ton of eyeshadow on. These shades are ideal for pairing with an elaborately lined eye look. And hey, if you want to go bold you can totally do that too as they are plenty of pigmented to create a smokier natural eye look!

The texture on all five shades is soft and buttery with an easy to blend consistency that never applied patchy. Application was smooth, even, and beautiful on my drier lids. They do have a little kick up when I swipe a brush through a shade but there was no issues with fall out. I can remember a time in my makeup life when mattes were as silky as they are now. I blame it on age but honestly, it’s most formula that made me shy away from mattes for many years! Density, dryness, and patchy application are just some of the reasons I’ve avoided the finish. Becca’s mattes have none of these issues. These are so soft, silky, and way easy to blend! Add in a flattering selection of shades and you have a most perfect palette that you’ll find yourself using daily!

If you’re a nude, natural kind of makeup user, I really feel like the Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette will be an excellent addition to your collection and will likely get a good deal of air time since it’ll work great for fresh, elegant looks. I love the chic, effortless looks I can create using this and feel like it was money well spent.

Do you think these shades would suite all skin tones ? I’m very fair and have been searching for some lovely matte browns – I’ve been tempted by this palette on more than one occasion, but I’m a tad concerned about how deep they look. Excellent post ! (Better late than never as they say! 🙂 )

I think they should be nice for fairer skin! I consider myself medium/fair and they worked for me 😀 Thanks 🙂 glad you enjoyed it!

I never bought this palette because I have the original Becca palette and I simply can not get but a few hours of wear time out of them. They apply decent (not great) but then within 4-6 hours they’ve faded away. I’ve even tried 3 different eye primers, all having the same result. Maybe I have a bad palette? I know some people think Becca eye shadows are fabulous, but I don’t get it.

I have dry lids so I rarely have an issue with fading or creasing. Sorry Denise 🙁

I had this palette used on me when I went to Sephora to have a #RebelEyes makeover. I have a picture on my Insta if anyone wants to see it (doubt anyone will but…) It’s on wishlist.

I’m so surprised by your review. I had both palettes and quickly eliminated both from my collection. I just do not like Becca’s formula and won’t buy their products again. But I’m glad it worked for you!

Really!??? I liked it! What did you hate? Curious minds! I thought they were really soft and easy to blend!

I found the colors became didn’t blend well and became muddy, and they had no staying power, even with primer. They didn’t translate from the pan to the lid very well for me. Back they went to Sephora!
