Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

One of the biggest foundation launches that everyone is drooling over at the moment is the (aside from Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation that is) would be Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($46).

Hourglass Cosmetics is a timid yet prestigious brand that doesn’t do major collection releases but instead focuses on doing one big product launch per season. I think in some ways this actually benefits them and also makes them a consumer friendly brand. Where as MAC is releasing collections every hour on the hour, Hourglass bides their time and does one major release that ends up gaining a huge cult following before they even release the product. Such would be the case for their new Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick which has been whispered about for months now and finally arrives just in time for the cooler weather ahead. For me this kind of delayed, anticipated release makes things all the more exciting. I also feel it means the brand spent more time on the formula, packaging, etc…so, you aren’t getting a flash in the pan release that may or may not be the quality you expect from a permanent range of products.

I’m not one for getting excited about foundation but considering the hype surrounding this launch I’m definitely feeding off those good vibes.

This a long-wearing foundation stick that apparently has a hybrid formula. The coverage promises to be that of a conceal where as the texture feels like a liquid but is as weightless as a powder. Apparently it acts as a foundation and concealer all in one and has double the amount of pigment of a traditional foundation formula so, a single stroke will get you full coverage that has a waterproof wear for up to 12 hours. It actually apparently adjusts to your body temperature which makes blending easy.

“I wanted a foundation that was full-coverage and easy to use on the go. I love that with one application it covers all imperfections and creates this amazingly seamless finish.””Carisa Janes, Hourglass Founder.

It doesn’t quite say whether it is matte or not but it sounds like it! Long-wear, full coverage foundations seem to be picking up speed for Fall 2016 which isn’t any great surprise since we all tend to go heavier with our base makeup come the cooler weather.

How do you feel about all these new fuller, long wearing foundation formulas?

Do you think Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick will be one you’ll try?

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is available now at Sephora.com.

Not sure about the matte, longwearing aspects (those usually mean drying, in my book) but I am SO a fan of stick foundations!! I wish they would come back in vogue and STAY this time!! Almay made one I loved, as did L’Oreal, and….. someone else, but can’t remember who right now.

You gonna indulge in this one, Muse? I’mma hold off til I see reviews and swatches etc. and know what it’s like for dry skin…. I’m SO hoping it rocks for dry skin, but I kinda doubt it…

I remember being obsessed with Benefit Play Sticks Kim! Swipe and go is my jam! ;-D Holding off, gotta see them in store as Hourglass’s shade range is weird for me sometimes. I hope so too! ;-D

This sounds really good. I want to try it but I have to finish my Bobbi Brown foundation stick up first.

From the YouTube reviews and demos I’ve watched, it is not matte, more satin. Medium coverage that’s buildable, lasts a good while, looks flawless on the skin and morphs into a more invisible skin finish as it wears on. And it looks to be acclimated to drier skin conditions. Definitely getting on of these by what I’ve seen.

Oh man… that sounds awesome!! Hmmm…. I wonder if I can wait for sephora F&F to roll around before I get it.

no – I can’t. Who am I kidding? Ain’t gonna happen, Cap’n. Must get it soon!

Absolutely will try as I love stick foundation. Still miss the original Clinique City Stick. The newer chubby stick is good but not as good as the first one.

Just watched the Wayne goss review and he was barely able to catch his breath with excitement At this products finish and coverage! He highlighted and contoured with them as well. I’m intrigued…

I just reviewed the on my blog too – I absolutely love how lightweight it feels! It is super hot here in Texas so this is the perfect foundation for the summer. There was so much hype surrounding the release of this product that I actually did not think I was going to like it!
