scent of a dream

Charlotte Tilbury Scent of a Dream Perfume is upcoming on August 15th and one of the greatest tag click bait lines that I’m seeing with this fragrance is, “You can smell like Kate Moss”.

I don’t know why but this made me laugh. It also kind of had me raising a brow because it implies that we were about to journey into another celebrity fragrance when that’s simply not the case at all.

Scent of a Dream is actually Charlotte’s first fragrance and I expect big, big things from it. The scent is inspired by her own blend of scented oils purchased from Ibiza’s hippie markets that she’s been using for over 30 years. She had Francois Robert (he’s the nose behind the iconic Chanel Cristalle fragrance as well as other Chanel fragrances) aid her in creating the fragrance. It is for the most part a floral blend but there’s also depth added to the fragrance from Chypre. Chypre adds complexity but not heaviness or darkness to the fragrance according to the brand.

Kate Moss is indeed the face of the fragrance. She was chosen by Charlotte because she felt she fit the ethereal and powerful inspiration of the fragrance.

The fragrance has fruit top notes such as lemon, peach, and mandarin with a floral heart of tuberose, violet, and jasmine. There’s patchouli as a middle note as well. But most interesting, are the base notes of hedione (pheromone), ambroxan (sage), and poinciana tree (fire tree). It sounds terribly complex and quite unique. I’m very eager to try it for this reason.

Charlotte Tilbury is well known for her luxurious cosmetics and I have hopes her fragrance will be just as unique as some of her makeup products.

Charlotte Tilbury Scent of a Dream launches on August 15th and will be available at www.charlottetilbury.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’ve just tried this! I love Charlotte Tilbury products but I’ll have to pass on this. It actually smelled quite soapy at first but dried down to a lighter Youth Dew on me. I’ve had it on my wrist for 2.5 hours and it’s faded quite quickly.

I always imagined that Kate Moss smelled like cigarettes and cocaine. I’ll pass.
