Hada Labo Shirojyun Cooling Hyaluron Jelly

I happen to be a rather big fan of Hada Labo Hyaluronic Acid so, picking up Hada Labo Shirojyun Cooling Hyaluron Jelly was a no brainer for me. I typically like thicker, gel essences like Kao Biore Extra Moisturizing Sealing Gel Lotion so, again this formula was very appealing to me.

Let’s take a look!

Hada Labo Shirojyun Cooling Hyaluron Jelly4

Hada Labo Shirojyun Cooling Hyaluron Jelly is actually a 5-in-1 formula that acts as a toner, moisturizer, serum, skin tightener, and face pack all in one. It’s promoted as a Summer product because it produces a cooling sensation on skin but I honestly only ever noticed a brief tingle which is likely caused from peppermint oil and menthol in the ingredients. These two ingridents also give it a minty fragrance. Like many Japanese skincare products it does contain alcohol as one of it’s top ingredients. So, if you avoid alcohol this might be a skip. Oddly enough, Japanese skincare that contains alcohol surprisingly doesn’t dry my skin out. I don’t quite the mystery of this!

This is a thicker jelly texture that absorbs easily into skin and has a little tingle after application. It’s very moisturizing and it leaves skin very smooth and soft but it isn’t a complete solution as it promises. I actually use it in the AM before anything hits my face because I like the tightening effect which ends up making my skin look smother. It is hydrating but there isn’t enough moisture here that you can ditch your other products. It’s a perfect prep for other products though as you’ll find your moisturizer and other skincare absorb more easily after an application of Shirojyun Cooling Hyaluron Jelly. You can also saturate larger facial cotton pieces with this and apply them on your face and use this as a mask of sorts in the evening!

The ingredients aren’t stellar unfortunately, but I have to admit I like using a jelly essence from time to time and this fits the bill perfectly!

There are different types of alcohol. If its not drying you out then it’s probably only a ‘fatty alcohol’.
