Honest Beauty Falling For You Makeup Palette

I have yet to try a single product from the Honest Beauty Makeup Collection but the new Honest Beauty Falling For You Makeup Palette for Fall 2016 might just change that!

Have a look!

How gorgeous is this Honest Beauty Fall for You Makeup Palette ($35)? It’s humid as hell in New York the last several days but this shades scream Fall. Created by celebrity makeup artist, Daniel Martin, the collection features gorgeous berry shades mixed with shimmery golds and beautiful, rich chocolates. I have a feel browns, berries, and golds are going to be a huge beauty trend this year! We’ve already seen it in the Tarte x Hrush Palette.

The palette contans five eyeshadows, cream blush, and two lip colors. Yeah, I know, I totally cringed at the idea of powders and creams in one palette too!

Eyeshadows:

  • Blackened Burgundy (dark burgundy w/a matte finish)
  • Chromed Rose (rich taupe w/a soft shimmer)
  • Painted Gold (brilliant yellow-gold w/a metallic finish)
  • Dusted Copper (bold copper w/a metallic finish)
  • Smoked Aubergine (blackened eggplant w/a metallic finish)

Blush:

  • Crushed Pink (creamy, soft peony)

Lipstick:

  • Blazed Garnet (blackened maroon w/a demi-matte finish)
  • Glazed Quartz (dusty rose w/a demi-matte finish)

I’m going to add it to my little Fall beauty wish list. This one might be coming home with me.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I have all the Honest Beauty trios and love them. But I also have the Everything Makeup palette which I don’t find to be up to the same quality. I dislike mixed medium palettes and only bought it because it was a platinum perk for $20. Since this one is the same concept and mixes powders and creams, I’ll probably pass unless it becomes a platinum perk again.

BTW the $3.50 coupon doesn’t work because Honest Beauty is a prestige brand.

oh no kidding I didn’t realize it was under the prestige brand catagory, I always thought it was kind of drugstore status! I hate the idea of creams and powders 🙁 but love these shades! TORN!

I haven’t tried anything by Honest either, but I’m so ready for fall! I’m obsessed with plums, copper, anything jewel-toned…so pretty =)

I hate the idea of creams of powders too. When I was a teen, I had one palette that I loved but I was very meticulous at swiping the creams with a brush to get rid of the powder fallout, cleaning the brush off on a napkin before dipping into it for real for application but it wasted product and was time consuming.

I liked Honest’s eyeshadow formula (even though I recently decluttered all their trios). The only issue I had with the formula is that the dark mattes tended to be a little patchy; you need to lay them on top of another shade to assist with blending them out–not a big deal. What clenched it for me for the trios though is that they don’t intend their lightest shade to be a brow bone shade (lid shade, yes–but in a couple of the trios, the lightest shade too dark/pigmentated to use as a brow bone even with a light hand and a fluffy brush); I think they expect you to pull an outside shade from your collection–and that totally bugs me when a palette isn’t “complete”/cohesive. Looking at the stock photo here, I sort of see the same issue. Painted Gold looks to be the lightest shade and will likely look gorgeous on the lid, but looks too deep to double as a brow bone highlight.

I haven’t tried anything from their line yet but I’m enjoying here what you guys think of the shades! I agree, I really wish more palettes were a bit more coordinated! This one seems good but yes, no high brow highlighter shades :-/

has anyone tried using a piece of cling film over the cream portions of pallets like these? it was just a thought to keep the powers from getting into the lipsticks.

    • Isabella Muse

I do that. I keep the little films that come in other palettes or for example, the Tarte blushes I recently reviewed had little circle films so I cute them into squares and lay them over the creams in palettes like this 😀

I love the rich colours but I too find it a pain to have cream and powder shades in the same palette, it just gets so messy!

I wish they had done this as just a shadow palette, gushing over those colors! Beautiful and make you want to dive into fall.
