About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. My current budget doesn’t allow for many Sephora purchases, but I have points saved from before. I really haven’t been impressed by most of the 500 point offerings, and keep waiting for something better. (The colors aren’t really compatible with my skin color, or I’d only use 1-2 items from the set.) I’d really like to see a full size item in the sets, and the ability to choose from 2 different shade options (like the department store gift with purchase sets).

That takes way too much consideration and attention from Sephora. It took me three tries for them to fix my customizable kat von d lock it foundation and beauty blender duo that they offered. They sent me only the beauty blender twice, and then the wrong foundation shade the third try. I tried to resolve in the store but the manager made me contact customer service again, because she said she didn’t know what to do. Mac basically recycles old product into “new” themes. Sephora does the same with their points system. They basically recycle old point perks and promo code offers. bleh.

The make up pouch looks nice but small. The eyeliners you can almost always get as a free deluxe sample (I have 5 of them from this year alone) and the lipstick shades have been given out as deluxe samples for almost the past 4 years now (i have 2 of each). Those higher point artistry experiences I’m not interested in, but I am vib rougue, and have not received a single email from sephora today…so that’s nice.

I wish I hadn’t blown all my points recently, I really do like this and would use all these products. Boo.

I have two of KVD liquid lippies and I’m in the minority- I don’t care for them at all! On me, the don’t have any staying power and have a tendency to migrate.
