Kylie Cosmetics KYShadow The Bronze Palette Review & Swatches

Kylie Cosmetics The Bronze Palette

I can’t even tell you how difficult it was getting my hands on the Kylie Cosmetics The Bronze Palette! If there are more KYShadow Palettes in the future I hope that they will be easier to buy because this one was damn near impossible to get.

As you may already know Kylie Jenner has her own line of cosmetics and recently she introduced her first every eyeshadow palette, The Bronze Palette. Honestly, this was all kinds of appealing to me because 1. I admire Kylie and all the Kardashian’s eye and lip looks! They always give great nude lip and eye looks that’s for sure! And 2, I really had to see what all the hype was for myself.

So, here’s my thoughts, review, and swatches of the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow The Bronze Palette.

One of the worst things about this palette was actually buying it. I took me three times to get it from Kylie’s website! Her cosmetics are obviously popular because they sell out with seconds, literally seconds, of launching on her site. I swear both times I tried to get the palette it was gone in under a minute. The last time though I was prepared, I had saved my credit card info on her site, was logged into her site, and I click submit and miraculously was able to buy this little baby.

I think one of the things I like most about it would be the fact it’s a selection of curated shades you’re likely to see Kylie wearing. I personally like the way Kylie does her makeup and this palette pretty much gives you the tools to recreate her eye looks. There’s nothing in the palette that you wouldn’t see Kylie personally wear.

The palette will set you back $42 and holds nine eyeshadows each of which is individually named. The palette itself is a little smaller than a CD and made from sturdy cardboard and holds no mirror inside. It’s made in the USA and each shade is 0.05 oz in size. The other palette depicts Kylie’s eyes bleeding shades of bronze. It’s a rather interesting design and I like it. You also get this cute little handwritten card thanking you for your purchase which also has Kylie’s eyes on it and when held a certain way they blink at you! It’s a cute little extra.

I was pretty happy with the shade selection. There’s a ton of perfect nudes and neutrals in here as well as some very pretty rusty oranges and browns that will create some fabulous Fall looks. It’s an excellent round up of coordinated shades that play off each other and will contrast and work well together to create a variety of looks.

The formula is powdery but never dry or chalky. All the shades, I can’t complain about a single one, had a soft, silky, velvety texture that blended easily on my eyes. The colors are nicely pigmented and they look and apply well on my drier eyes without creasing.

So yeah, it was SO hard to purchase this one but I’m actually happy I finally did get it because I have a feeling I’ll be using it quite often. This is a great selection of nude, neutral shades that will create beautiful day or night looks. The shades coordinate well together and are formulated with a beautifully velvety texture that applied very easily and smoothly on my lids.

I’m not a fan of the Kardashians at all. Mainly it’s just because I feel like they’re everywhere and I have K-fatigue. But that said, this does look like a really nice, well thought-out product. There are only two or three colors, though, that appeal to me, but that’s mainly because I have enough neutrals at the moment (I can’t believe I said that!) and the orange-y shades I would never wear because orange makes me look gray and dead.

This palette looks gorgeous. If I could condense the Morphe 35O palette down into something compact, I would pick these shades. Wow…I’m impressed! I won’t be buying it for $42 lol but if I saw it at the store on sale I’d give it a try!

  • Kate

interesting, nice to know you liked it
have you tried the lip products?

she gets of lot of pushback on instagram ( I don’t know why) because her stuff looks nice to me

    • Isabella Muse

I ordered some glosses but they haven’t arrived yet 🙂 I think it comes with the territory when you’re famous! :-/

I have one of her lip kits, Koko K, which is very good. However, I’ll never buy any more Kylie stuff unless they fix the website issues or start selling in Ulta or Sephora.

    • Isabella Muse

I agree! Website isn’t an issue, it loads fast, etc but the entire wait in line to check out and proceed to be disappointed because it sells out while you wait “in line” for 15 to 20 minutes is absurd. If you’re going to wait that long, you should get a pay off for it at the end. I tried getting her b-day eyeshadows, they were in stock and I had them in my cart and waited in line 20 minutes only to be told “out of stock” it’s annoying. They def need to do something about that. Otherwise the site itself is stable, loads faster, and is easy to navigate.

i’ve heard rumors that this is just a re-branded bh palette. any thoughts on how it compares in real life, muse? the only bh palette i have is the carli bybel one and the shadows are actually awesome, plus it was only $12. the photos of this kyshadow one do look a lot like the carly bibel …

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not sure, I haven’t tried BH eyeshadow! Just their lipglosses! I thought maybe they were like Makeup Geek Eyeshadows but again, haven’t tried them so can’t compare! I don’t know who Carly Bibel is, I feel old now haha!

  • danadoo

The palette looks nice, but honestly I refuse to give one dollar to the Kardashian/jenner machine. I just can’t with this family.

  • Katherine T.

I have to admit, I’m pretty fascinated by Kylie, and her makeup always looks on point, but those neutral colors tend to look very boring and muddy on me. I probably need lots of lashes, more curves, and a sultry pout to pull it off LOL. But this shadow palette looks very solid, nice to see she’s putting out a quality product here, and not just depending on hype to sell it. I heard that she uses ColourPop to make her products, so good choice.

These eye shadows look lovely – perfectly pigmented from the swatches and lots of great neutral shades to play around with. They are pretty good value, I think.

  • KL

Sorry I can’t support this brand. To me, they symbolize all that is bad about society.

  • Michelle Flamingo

Nice colors in the palette and nice shades of makeup on YOU. I like that look on you!

The middle color is very orangey but I am sure they did that on purpose so people can neutralize it with either one of the darker or one of the lighter shades if they want to (and I would want to). I bet that would work well in either direction for me. Coppery shades are very good on blue eyes – makes them seem blue-er.

    • Isabella Muse

thanks Michelle <3! The orange works fab with brown for a nice fall eye look!

After many many tries I finally got the kyliners and lip gloss. I kept on trying to get palette and still can’t get a hold of it. I was the same, on the web and had all my details all set up but wasn’t lucky with that one.

My gripe is that we live in the United Kingdom and you pay your shipping, right,, fine, however you have to go to your local post office to pick it up because there is a customs charge and then another charge from the post office so altogether I had to fork out another 24 over and above the shipping. Most disappointed as it was never mentioned and adds on quite an amount to your overall order.

    • Isabella Muse

I think it restocks today LJ if that is any help. I’m sorry! I tried a few times myself, especially with the birthday stuff, was impossible to get anything but I was successfully my third time! It’s very frustrating with the way they release stuff!

  • LJ

I have already tried today as soon as it came on the web. Oh well I will keep on trying….
    Thanks anyway, appreciate it.

  • Melissa

This restock made it very easy to get the palette – even seems to still be available a couple days later. I ordered a lip kit on 9/3 which I got on 9/9 (though I do live in LA so that might make it faster) – super happy with the website and how fast I got. Y order, so I was happy to reorder when they did the restock/free shipping event. I’m getting 2 more lip kits in addition to the palette because I was super happy with my first order (Kristen lip kit, really pretty color but a little dark for everyday for me cause I’m super fair. Ordered Kandy K and Koko K this time for neutral daytime looks). Also got the bronze gold creme shadow to use as a base for the palette shadows. Really excited to start playing with all these pretty colors!

    • Isabella Muse

thank god! Seemed it took me FOREVER to get my hands on it. I got the two cream shadows as well and I hope she does more as they seem nice (haven’t used them yet). Enjoy your haul!
