About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

    Hey Muse
Is this an old Holiday collection? I went online to read the reviews and they date back to 2014.

HOLIDAY!?!?!?! Holy criminy – it’s still *August*!!!! Not that that will stop me from looking, but c’mon…. August?

I don’t know about buying some makeup that’s two years old, even if it’s sealed. 🙁 What do you think, Muse?

Seems like stores like Sephora and Ulta are cleaning house to get ready for the new holiday items. I’m hoping for news (new news!) about Too Faced’s coffee-scented holiday set. I may not always succumb to cute packaging but the right scents can have me reaching for my credit card every time!

I imagine it is fine. Powders are good for up to three to five years in my experience. I can’t wait for the Holiday stuff either 🙂 There’s a peppermint mocha scent too I believe in that Too Faced Palette!

        Thanks!

Yeah, there are Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Cookie, and Eggnog Latte palettes in the Grand Hotel Cafe set. Take my money now!!!

I always wondered about inventory clearing; makes sense when they clear after XMas (aka Boxing Day) but I’m always surprised when they dig up oldies. It’s like, is your warehouse the same warehouse that has the Ark from Indiana Jones? I would think they’d just give away old stock to employees at some point. -_-

Never opened should be fine. Even gently used can be sanitized by spritzing with alcohol and letting air dry. I tend to scrape off the top layer of gently used products when passing onto family/friends. I guess I’m less worried about quality of product because I’ve seen first-hand what eyeshadow looks like when it goes “bad”: when I was a teenager, my mom got me a lancome trio. It was my first full-size (only ever gotten GWP previously) so I “saved” it and then forgot about it. Never opened it. Like a decade later, I re-discovered it, and out of curiosity, opened it up and put a sponge applicator to it–it literally disintegrated. Like in movies when something turns into dust and the wind gusts and it disappears? Like that. And I was like, “Oh, I guess it’s expired.” LOL LOL

Hmm – I always wonder how old some of these sets retailers put on sale nowadays. I wish they wouldn’t include so many lipglosses -because I don’t use them at all.
The Tarte palette looks lovely though.
