Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes

I have to admit the Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes ($5.99) are crazy interesting. Charcoal is an excellent ingredient for drawing out makeup, dirt, oil, and impurities from your skin. It actually acts like a magnet and sucks all the gunk out.

The idea of a facial wipe that contains charcoal was interesting. But there’s a problem or two…

Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes are $5.99 for 30 wipes so they are affordable, budget friendly option. Honestly, you probably don’t want to use these to remove makeup. For one thing, Yes to Tomatoes doesn’t promote these as a makeup remover wipe. And secondly, they are black so, it’s a little difficult to see if your makeup is actually removed. I mean, a regular cleansing wipe is white and as you remove your makeup you’ll likely check the wipe on each pass to make sure there’s nothing left. You can’t do that with these. They are black in color so, it is impossible to see when everything is completely off your face.

They actually work best after you cleanse your face as you can just use them as a double cleansing tool of sorts to draw out any gunk that your cleanser left behind!

However, I should warn you they do have a good deal of fragrance. It’s a nice fragrance but it is pretty strong. Also, I felt a little itchy and a little tingly after using them. I had a bad experience with Freeman Blue Agave Hydrating Facial Paper Mask a few years ago and I have to admit these felt a little bit like that. After I use them my entire face felt itchy with a bit of a tingle. Mind you, it wasn’t nearly as bad as it was with the Freeman Mask but it is worth mentioning if you’re a sensitive user. I don’t have sensitive skin myself so, imagine if you do?

I like the idea of Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes but they might have a bit too much tingle for some user!

Tried ’em?

Good Morning Muse! Thank you for mentioning the stinging this caused on your skin and that it felt like that Freeman mask. I too had a reaction to a Freeman mask but a tube (Golden Grain Facial Brightening Mask) in the past so I will for sure be staying far away from these. I might just go get the Clinique ones you do like.I am looking for a pick me up type of wipe since I want something more then a cleansing water in the morning.

Oh I didn’t have an issue with Golden Grain, sorry to hear that! But I did have a major issue with the sheet mask! Whoa! Itchy! This had a little of that feeling so I felt like it needed to be mentioned just in case anyone is sensitive! Those aren’t actually good for cleansing Len, they are more of a prep wipe for skincare! If you’re looking for something to remove dirt, oil, makeup I’d go with MAC’s cleansing wipes, those are truly my fav! Or Simple Micellar Wipes are nice too ;D

Thanks for your reply. The mask burned my face out of nowhere even after I had used it a handful of times I threw it out after that. Yes! I have been eyeing them for prepping in the morning. I usually have very minimal dirt/oil in the morning that the Garnier cleansing water takes care of for me.

I don’t blame you! I immediately toss anything that burns! A slight tingle, ok, but burn no! They are ideal for prepping prior to skincare! Let me know if you try them and what you think!

Love these charcoal wipes! I use them after I wash my face or exfoliate to make sure I’ve removed anything remaining on my skin before I apply serums, moisturizer, etc. It gives me a nice smooth surface and I swear my makeup goes on more smoothly! No tingle for me thankfully and I agree on the scent…..smells nice but is rather heavy.

So glad I read this! I literally had this in my hand this morning at Target but decided against it (for now, I told myself). My face has become very sensitive lately so I think I will save my money. I was actually looking for the Argan Oil wipes but my store doesn’t carry them yet 🙁

me too! Not right now but during the colder weather my skin was freaking out. Like all flaky and it would burn when I used certain products. Was weird, because I’m normally not sensitive! Aw sorry! Try Amazon? or Target.com!
