Bath & Body Works Salted Caramel Pumpkin Fragrance Review

Bath & Body Works Salted Caramel Pumpkin

I thought I’d review the new Bath & Body Works Salted Caramel Pumpkin fragrance today! If you didn’t already know Bath & Body Works Salted Caramel Pumpkin is one of three new, limited edition Fall 2016 Pumpkin Festival Fragrances that launched at Bath & Body Works that’s available in a fragrance mist, bath, and body products.

I have to admit I was excited about these new fragrances because I like pumpkin scented anything. Strangely enough, I dislike pumpkin flavored candies or cakes or coffees yet I adore the scent of these items.

Salted Caramel Pumpkin sounded especially delicious I meant caramel and pumpkin? Yes, please!

I think Bath & Body Works is slightly misleading with their fragrances because they seriously never smell like their namesakes. Like if they create a scent called Pina Colada typically it does not even smell anything like coconut. They include so many notes that the coconut ends up being drowned out by everything else in the mix. I think that’s pretty much the case with Salted Caramel Pumpkin.

This contains top notes of tangerine, apple, and maple flakes. When I first mist it on I get a buttercream note with a hint of pumpkin which oddly enough belong to the middle notes as those are pumpkin puree, whipped buttercream, salted caramel, and winter orchid. I just get straight up buttercream and hints of pumpkin on that initial mist. As it drowns down I get a lot more spicy pumpkin and a soft, creamy layer of the buttercream playing in the background with a soft caramel note and a hit of maple. Apparently at the dry down you’ll get vanilla cake, pineapple creme brulee, sugared woods, and fluffy musk. I sort of get a vanilla graham cracker note as it begins to dry but still that pumpkin buttercream note holds strong!

It’s a complex blend but you’ll never really get a full on caramel pumpkin scent because there are too many notes mixed in here. So, the namesake might be simple but the actual scent is anything but. I have to admit I wish it was simple. I wish it smelled like salted caramel and pumpkin! That’s why the name can be a little misleading. But, I won’t say it doesn’t smell nice because it does. Does it remind me of Fall? Mmmm a little bit! If nothing else it smells like a low calorie version of Bath & Body Works Caramel Pumpkin Swirl Candle but with a lot like sugar and spice mixed in.

Sadly, as with most Bath & Body Works Fragrance it doesn’t last long! Layering is key here so, if you like the fragrance mist I highly recommend picking up the lotion as that will help to keep the Fragrance Mist wearing longer.

Bath & Body Works Salted Caramel Pumpkin is a nice fragrance but a little misleading in the name! If you really want a true Salted Caramel scent I’d go with the new Ulta one! That really captures ooey gooey caramel and it’ll also pair up wonderfully well with this Bath & Body Works scent.

Bath & Body Works Salted Caramel is available now in stores and online.

Have you smelled it?

What do you think?

I purchased this item.

Haven’t tried this B&BW one, but I agree with you about the Ulta Salted Caramel scent. Wow, very caramel-ly.

I love the smell of these bakery/confection inspired things, but for some reason whatever synthetic vanilla chemical they use inevitably starts to smell like spoiled milk when applied to my skin! But it is fun to walk through the store and imagine being able to wear them, haha.

I smelled this last week and ended up getting the Pumpkin Apple Cider instead. It’s sooooo good.

I love it! I can smell the cream on my hands hours later! I wear Jessica simpsons fancy and they mix very well
