Christian Louboutin Perfume

Tornade Blonde, Trouble in Heaven, and Bikini Questa Sera are three new Christian Louboutin Perfumes that are being added to the Christian Louboutin Beauty empire this Fall.

Funny story, I haven’t yet been tempted to indulge in Louboutin’s pricey lipstick but these fragrances at $275 each have my inner niche perfume fan girl screaming at me to buy one of each.

Christian Louboutin Tornade Blonde
The scent of adventure and desire that captivates with red rose, sweet violet, and cassis. Includes notes of Rhubarb, Violet Leaves, Ambrette Signature, Cassis, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmin Sambac Absolut, Orange Flower Petals Firnat, Gardenia from Brazil, Ambregris, Cedarwood, Australian Sandalwood, Patchouli.

Christian Louboutin Trouble in Heaven
A mysterious, provacation, sexy scent that turns heads with notes of iris, patchouli, and tonka absolut resonate with the dry heat of oriental amber.

Christian Louboutin Bikini Questa Sera
An evening fragrance that takes the heat of the day into the night with notes of Paradisone, Green Nectars, Jasmin Absolut, Tuberose Absolut, Australian Sandalwood, Vetiver Haiti, and Ambregris.

The glass flankers these come housed in quite remind me of Thierry Mugler’s Alien Collection! I’m most curious about Bikini Questa Sera, I like the idea of an evening fragrance that takes notes from the day! I’m picturing a warm, sizzling fragrance. I’m hoping for the Holiday they might do some sort of mini gift set that includes all three which will allow me to sample all of these in one go versus splurging $275 on one. Last year, Sephora was quite great about introducing some great niche fragrance samplers from brands like Juliette Has a Gun and Etat Libre d’Orange.

Christian Louboutin’s three new fragrances are available now at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

Trouble in Heaven sounds lovely, but I admit I kind of have a grudge against Christian Leboutin products. So far, they’ve been unnecessarily overpriced and haven’t produced the quality to justify the cost. To me, they’ve just been super-overpriced “celebrity-branded” products, so I’m not expecting much. Though, I have been surprised before (Stash by SJP!), so I’ll still take a sniff to see if the hype is deserved.

For now, though, if I’m going to drop $250+ on a perfume, it would be The Different Company’s I Miss Violet, one of the Serge Lutens bell bottle scents, Memo African Leather, etc.

  • Jen

If you think I’d spend 1000.00 dollars on 3 perfumes, this company is out of their minds. I don’t know what you do for a living Muse, but as the saying goes ” nice work if you can get it, if you can get it, won’t you tell me how”! You are always on vacay, buying things most of us can only dream of buying, purchasing new cars, building weekend houses. I have a JD and I can’t afford what you buy, and I think I do well. Guess, I should have started a blog instead of 3 years of law school.

    • Isabella Muse

I don’t make enough money on the blog to maintain any sort of luxury lifestyle unfortunately. About 75% of what I make on ads or affiliates goes back into maintaining the blog and the bills that come along with the website which include monthly hosting fees (If I told you how much I pay a month to maintain this blog you’d think I was crazy), support, products I purchase to review, etc…I think there are only a very few select people that make any sort of “real” money on blogging and I know I’m not one of them. I don’t have the numbers or readership to make millions and millions of dollars off my site. Some people do it for a living, I do it as a hobby because I enjoy makeup. I don’t have a JD, that’s a great accomplishment you should be proud of yourself. I do however, have a full time job that I like to think I work hard at which in turn gets me the things I want. From my understanding, that’s basically the idea of how it all works. Go to work, make money, pay bills, save money, and if you’re lucky, buy things you enjoy or can afford but don’t get yourself into debt doing it. No secret sauce here, no one is paying my bills for me nor is this blog unfortunately, although I can hope that one day that might happen! Aside from hard work, saving, and managing my money well, there isn’t anything I’m doing differently from anyone else out there. If you can’t afford the fragrance, don’t buy it, it’s that simple as far as I’m concern but I wouldn’t say people who do want to purchase it are out of their minds. People are out there spending hundreds or thousands on handbags, why wouldn’t they do so on fragrance? Ever market has a niche! I’m sure you’ve found yourself at some point overindulging in something you enjoy be it a fragrance, a handbag, or maybe a trip somewhere or a concert! Honestly, if this post doesn’t interest you, I’m positive you’ll find a 100 others on my site that do as I like to think I cater to everyone’s budget and likes in the beauty world be it drugstore, mid-range, or higher end!

      • Lauren

Well said, Muse! We all have things we indulge in, mine happens to be perfumes. We all prioritize, save, and occasionally splurge on what we want. I’m currently saving for a bottle of I Miss Violet and a bottle of Le Quatrieme.

        • Isabella Muse

Agreed! I think everyone has some vice be it cheap or expensive! 🙂 That’s exactly the right mentality! Prioritize, save, and splurge 🙂 I know you’ve been wanting that Le Quatrieme! You’re the reason it is currently on my wish list haha because I’ve been saving up for a bottle too! You got me all curious about it the last time we chatted!

          • Isabella Muse

PS the new Mcqueen Fragrance is fantastic! If you haven’t smelled it head in to saks for a sniff!

          • Lauren

You should try Stash by Sarah Jessica Parker. I broke my “No celebrity scents” rule for it, lol! I’m not sure it’s one that you’d love, but I was really impressed. Slightly smoky, leather, incense, with a sliiiiight sweet undertone.

          • Isabella Muse

I got it! I liked it! 🙂 VERY nice! I misted in store and literally walked around for about an hour with it before deciding if I needed it. At first it felt a little weak but it developed and became warmer with a better throw and I totally fell in love 😀 Grabbed it up and we are living together happily ever after hahaha 😀 Great minds Lauren! OH and did you see the new Guerlain???

          • Lauren

            I haven’t seen it, unfortunately!

Stash really surprised me! I saw an ad on Facebook for it, and someone called it disgusting and that it smelled like leather and musk to them. I was like, “Huh, I might have to go try it!” It smells almost “niche” to me, which is really surprising for a celeb scent. I usually expect sweet and fruity from them.

          • Isabella Muse

SJP kept saying in interviews that it smelled like body odor and I was all WHAT? Body odor!? Why in the world are you promoting your fragrance as smelling BO! Of course, this had me wildly curious. Not that I like the smell of BO but seriously, I had to see what it was all about 😀 It smells nothing like BO thankfully haha! I agreed, I think it could easily fit into the niche category. Not to be a complete snob but I also raised a brow it was sold at Ulta first. Ulta has been getting a lot of exclusives lately but Stash’s price range seemed more counter or Sephora vs Ulta. It’s a very interesting release for a celeb and considering SJP’s previous releases are pretty standard generic florals, Stash def surprised and delighted!

          • Lauren

Lol, she really needs to learn how to market her scents! I mean, I get what she was trying to say, because I could definitely get the scent of skin, musk, and candle smoke after a romantic night, but describing it as BO? Jeeze.

Speaking of perfumes, have you seen the description of the new unnamed Byredo? I swear I almost squealed, since it sounded right up my alley in terms of notes: amber, pink pepper, orris root, violet, balsam fir, etc. I can feel my bank account balance going down, since Byredo scents usually do really well with my skin chemistry.

          • Isabella Muse

OMG google it! Shes everywhere saying it smells like BO or one of her comments said it smells like a man who road the Eurostar for several long hours haha what a way to describe a fragrance 😀 I get what she means though on some level, to me it smells like a perfume would on a fav unwashed shirt that you hang in your closet because it has to be dry cleaned. It’s that beautiful linger scent of fragrance and your own natural scent (NOT THE BO variety of course haha). I READ that! and I got exited because I’m a recently coveted fan to amber, commodity gold converted me! Although, Byredo is sometimes weird for me as you know! Oh, Lauren, how I missed out fume discussions 🙂 hehe! So much goodness coming out for Fall!!!!!!!!!!! You need to email me your address, I’ll decant a small amount of my McQueen for you to smell and try out 🙂 I literally just got it in the mail yesterday!

      • LadyL

*HAND CLAP* I dislike when people people think that just because they can’t afford something, someone else can’t. I can’t afford these fragrances. I wish I could. The one in the purple bottle is calling my name but my bank account so far is silent. But there are plenty of people spending thousands of dollars with no problem on various products.

        • Isabella Muse

I can’t afford them right now either! I’m waiting on Holiday makeup collections and don’t want to overindulge! But a girl can wish for a sampler of all three that’s more affordable 🙂 teehee please Mr Louboutin can you throw a girl a bone? Sampler size of all three say at the $49-$99 price range? k, thanks!

        • Jen

Not to get into any sort of argument here, because I feel like this is a lovely, sweet blog where girls and guys can get together and talk about make up, perfumes, candles whatever your thing is, but to assume I CAN’T afford the Perfum is a bit over reaching. Because I stated that this Perfum was over priced and this company was nuts for charging those prices, does mean I am envious of people of the who will buy it. I think their lipsticks and nail polishes are over priced too. Muse answered my question, and others needed not to reply with assumptions on my bank account. I too, work hard as I’m sure all you ladies and gents do. I just choose to spend my money, not on a bottle of Perfum, but I have and will re-purchase 1200$ Louboutin shoes. That is simply keeping up with the “Joneses” in my profession. Still have my eye on the prize…a holiday cabin in the smokies. Anything to get me out of Florida for a few weeks at a time. ;D

          • Lauren

I think everyone was a little outraged because you came across as trying to shame Muse for being able to afford to take nice vacations and buy high-end items. Your comment came across as extremely catty and jealous, especially when you stated that you had a law degree and couldn’t afford to do the same things, and that maybe you should have started a blog instead of doing three years of law school.

  • Jen

Lauren, I suppose at my age and profession I see how fast money comes and goes. To think that a blogger, and believe me I am not talking about the Muse, can make more money than an attorney is a little crazy. I also know, that one small step back can put you in financial ruin. And as far as being outraged, you really need to get a grip. As I would tell my clients, we can talk about this all day long, but it is going to cost a bundle. I chose to spend my money where I want, and the Muse can spend her very last penny on perfume and vacations, that is not my business. My question was how she does it? When in my profession, I can not jet off when I want, and buy what I want. And I have a feeling she probably does not do that either. Very few of us can. She answered my question and I felt it was over with. Thank you, BTW, Muse. However, I do know that I don’t want work till I am 70. And I don’t do catty or jealous. And as far as what I can and can not afford, that is between me and my financial planner. No one in my family has worked past 40. We have all retired and lived quite well. I plan to do the same. BTW, I am 39 and choose to spend the remaining years of my life living, not working to live. Thanks. I hope that this answers your questions, and does not leave Ms. Muse without a fan, when this really has nothing to do with her at this point! Have a lovely night.

    • Isabella Muse

Jen, I actually don’t think it is crazy at all to think a blogger makes more than an attorney. I see youTubers that are grossing millions of dollars a year and larger blogs like Temptalia (who also has a law degree) that make a living from blogging. I mean, we live in an electronic age, it shouldn’t come as any surprise someone is making money on a blog that has a large following and readership. Or how about creating an app for an Iphone and gross billions from it? Same concept in some ways isn’t it? It’s money gained from some sort of creative outlet. It isn’t absurd to think that some youTuber out there is making more than a doctor or a lawyer to me. I liken it to celebrities in some ways. The Kardashian’s are always a great example, they are a basically a brand themselves and they are each making millions of dollars. But does anyone actually know what they do? I mean aside from a TV show, it’s not like they are pumping out major hit movies or saving lives or creating some new awesome technolog. It’s a lot of endorsements I imagine that makes them their money and likewise for youTubers. Bloggers however, particularly beauty bloggers depend on ads or affiliates to make money. I know I’m not paid per a post or a review, most of what I post I find on websites or if I am lucky I might get pitched a new product and I post about it because it interests me. I know Temptalia is not paid for posts or reviews. This isn’t to say there aren’t bloggers out there that do make money by posting reviews or doing posts that contain endorsements for a certain products. Likely, the perfect example for this would be mommy bloggers who are paid a good deal of money to make up a post that perhaps includes some sort of detergent or snack and incorporate into that post by featuring their family and kids. If you visited any mommy blog this weekend I’m sure there are dozens of posts about BBQ and Labor Day and those posts likely included some sort of condiment or decor item that was given to said mommy blogger to include in post and they were paid for that post. I don’t do those posts and most beauty bloggers I know don’t do them. I’ve been blogging many years and I could probably count on two hands the amount of sponsored posts I’ve done and all of them were disclosed. I don’t knock anyone for making a living doing this, it’s just not something I do.. If you’re making big bucks practicing law awesome, if you’re making millions doing youTube videos even more awesome, I mean I can’t sit here and pass judgement on who or who shouldn’t be making more money based upon their profession nor can I say “Well, I have a BA in Computer Engineering, how come lawyers and bloggers are making more $$$ than I am?” It really depends doesn’t it? Where you live, who you work for, what you’re creating, how many hours of work you’re putting in, etc… all that factors into how much money you’re going to make. Hell, some people are super lucky and just have money rolling in without putting in much effort. Sadly, I’m not one of those people. I’m an insurance broker, like I said no secret sauce here. I specialize in underwriting commercial liability policies. I have a BA in Computer Engineering but my great love of computers never translated into my career because of, guess what? Money! 🙂 By the time, I graduated college the mark was pretty saturated and the pay was a bit meh. Nowadays, it’s a lot better but I don’t see myself changing my career at this point. I don’t jet off when I want, but that would cool though if I could just drop everything and do so 😉 I def don’t want to work until I’m 70 but I’m doubtful I’ll retire at 40, you’re ahead of the game if you can do so, obviously that means you’re doing way better than I am if you can retire and live comfortably at 40! Good for you! I wish I could! I’ll likely be working until I’m at least 60. If I get lucky maybe 55! I will disagree with you on one thing, which is “And as far as what I can and can not afford, that is between me and my financial planner.” I’m not sure why you’re upset about any questions regarding your finances when you, yourself, questioned my finances in and offhanded way in your original post. Why does it offend you when asked the same question about what you can or can’t afford? Why is it ok to ask how I do it yet it isn’t ok for others to question you about your finances? You’ve contracted yourself slightly in the fact you won’t purchase expensive perfume but as you said you will re-purchase 1,200 dollar shoes. Luxury is luxury be it perfume or accessories, if you can afford $1200 shoes why does perfume that costs $275 seem so utterly crazy? Anyway, as you said we should really shouldn’t bicker about this stuff! We’re here for the makeup and the beauty and hopefully that’s why you come here and that’s what you enjoy about Musings of a Muse. Hopefully we cleared some stuff up and if not we can agree to disagree and still remain friends! You have a good night too and hopefully we’ll talk soon on a different topic!

      • Jen

I could not agree more. If I could make a million dollars off cosmetics, believe me, I would. But to question how much I make would be as rude as to ask you what you make. I simply wanted to know your secret? I see that you have worked hard, as I have. I got my BS in Poly Sci. Just like everyone else! I soon realized I needed something else. I wish I could make a fortune off of blogging, or product endorsement. Just not in the cards for me. I suppose in my mind a pair of shoes that cost $1200.00 is a staple of success. If I could write it off as a business expense, I would. No one can tell you have on a $300.00 perfume, but they know the red bottom shoes. Same goes with my handbags, briefcase and watch. Funny enough, I buy most of my work clothes from Ann Taylor, certainly, no $500.00 pants here. Everything else, Target, Macys and wherever else has a sale. Hope you have a lovely night. And, just to let you know, I don’t have red wine and popcorn for dinner. Being a lawyer is not what it looks like on t.v. or the movies. I push more paper than I ever see a courtroom. I feel personally responsible for the destruction of 1000 trees. Really. Very sad. Its a paper pushing job and we don’t have bosses that look like the ones on T.V. That is for sure. We leave our jobs at the door at 6:00 and head home to our yoga pants and Netflix. ;-D

        • Isabella Muse

Likewise! Haha! But I’ve been doing this since 2007 and I haven’t made anywhere in the vicinity of one million dollars off it 😀 Just hard work like the rest of the nation! 🙂 That’s my secret! Likewise, when I graduated collage I was gun-ho to work in the computer industry but realized I needed something else as well. It’s not in the cards for me either, don’t feel bad lol! I think blogging can be the luck of the draw at times, sometimes you gain popularity super fast, most times you don’t 🙂 Right now blogging is extra difficult as we live in an instant gratification world and most people turn to Instagram for their beauty fix and aren’t interested in reading longer articles or reviews like I do. It’s difficult to keep a readership’s interest when all they want is a quick flash image and info. If I was actually doing this for a living I’d be very worried right now because more and more reader’s are migrating towards videos/instagram and aren’t interested in blogs as much as they used to be. True, no can tell you are wearing pricey perfume but I like smelling unique and I also find indulging in a more expensive perfume means I get a better throw and linger. Ha don’t worry, brokers are the same, a lot of pushing paper around! ;-D I guess laywer’s aren’t ally mcbeal, doctor’s aren’t all grey’s anatomy, and bloggers aren’t all happily ever after Michelle Phan-like fairy tales 🙂 Damn! Real life sucks haha!

  • Aretsuya

Is it just me or were the bottle designers super hungry? (Hint: google “twisted konnyaku.”)

    • Isabella Muse

haha now I can’t get that visual out of my head! It does look like twisted konnyaku (which I hate yucky!)! No offense, if you like it 😀

  • Cathy

WOW… the comments section of this post was the most interesting part of it. LOL! I have learned a lot about the bloggler life.

And its true we all work and deserved to spend some of our well earned money on what makes us happy. I am the kind of person that wouldn’t pay $275 on a fragrance but I am thinking on buying the Natasha Denona palette. That is $239 for an eye shadow palette that I would only use a few times. But that makes me happy! Its all relative to our interest.

And yes! it sucks that you have to work all day long for months to be able to go on a nice Vacation and a Youtuber gets it for free. Just to promote the place. But such is life!

    • Isabella Muse

We def all have our little beauty corners 🙂 I’m actually a lover of skincare but cringe when people purchase really high end expensive skincare when they could be purchasing cheaper Japanese or Korean skincare that’s just as amazing! So, yeah we all have their vices. Mmm doesn’t really suck! I think those youTubers likely work hard to gain their readership and even though they might be getting some sort of free trip, imagine the hoops they have to jump through during that trip? It’s a double-edged sword 🙂

  • Pamella

I just want to say that I have sampled and tried these fragrances and have no problem spending the money, but the fragrance doesn’t last ! I sprayed it on and not even an hour later, I can no longer smell the fragrance

Very disappointing, given the price but then, I truly think you’re overpaying for the name and brand
