The Drunk Elephant AHA Moment Set Wasn’t Available in Stores

So, I attended the Sephora Holiday 2016 Preview Event but the most devastating thing ever was the fact they didn’t have the Drunk Elephant AHA Moment Set. Ok, so I admit, I didn’t love the Drunk B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel but I have heard so many good things about the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum.

When I headed in store the first thing I did immediately before I even looked at any of the Holiday 2016 Makeup Sets was ask one of the sales associates if they are the Drunk Elephant AHA Moment Set. She was super sweet and headed into the back to see if any were available. Sadly, she came out empty handed.

Oh woe is me.

After I got out of the store I was checking my e-mails and low and behold I got one that said all the Holiday preview items were available online at Sephora.com. I clicked on the Drunk Elephant Set in my e-mail but it said the item was no longer available. Sadness.

Later that night I got home and randomly clicked over to Sephora and YES, it was in stock! I guess it wasn’t working on mobile for some reason. I ended up snapping it up! It’s actually not really a major value set. As a full size T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, which this comes with, is $90, and the set is $96 and also includes 0.27 oz B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel and C-Firma Day Serum. So, for six bucks more you get deluxe sizes of two other products. Mmm not really a huge deal! I’d be more compelled to say it was a deal if they marked it at $90 and just threw in those deluxe sizes!

None the less, at least you’re getting a little something extra for your six bucks which is cool!

I’ll share my thoughts on the set soon! Hopefully Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum is as great as everyone is saying it is!

I know a few of you got the set too.

What do you think?

Good value?
The Drunk Elephant AHA Moment Set is available now at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. They had it in store in the Danbury CT location. I was tempted but grabbed the Tarte, Too Faced, and Laura Mercier sets instead. 🙂

So I went in hoping for 2 things, 1.) Tarte Brushes 2.) Drunk Elephant.
I only bought the brushes. I did have it in my cart the whole day, but never pulled the trigger. I did find it in my free standing store. I ended up getting a different set from DE for $82. Which I can’t find any where. Which it came with a full size B Hydra gel, the whole reason I wanted to try the kit. So my kit came with – Pekee bar, Virgin Marula face oil, C-Firma day serum and T.L.C. Framboos glycolic night serum. Which I fell in love with the TLC over night. No irritation! Just glowing skin this morning. The Pekee bar was different for me, I will say. I use mostly all korean brands (thanks to u). So going from oil cleanser, then to a bar soap was new and it was nice. I still love my Skin Food cleanser, but it was in the box so I tired it. Today I am trying the rest of the line up. Sephora suggested the B Hydra for me since I love gel moisturizers. I just finished my Missha super aqua cell renew snail cream, which is great for moisture. I just need a little more in a day time moisturizer now. So we will see how this all does with my koren skincare. I am still looking for a HG eye cream. Any suggestions would be great. I need moisture that won’t give me mila . So I hope you like it when it comes in. I may still buy the other kit for travel size on the other two, since I like the TLC Framboos.

Thanks for the info Elaine! I was curious about the TLC serum 😀 I’m eager to start testing it out. Sadly, the B Hydra wasn’t enough moisture for me :-/ But it is a great pick for oily/combo skin! I’m so glad you’re enjoying Korean skincare ;-D that makes me so happy! Yay! Eye cream, I would highly suggest Hydroshield especially if you have a good deal of dryness, it’s a fav of mine! https://www.musingsofamuse.com/2014/03/dr-denese-hydroshield-eye-serum-review.html

Oh I forgot to tell you I tired the Loreal glycolic pads. They burned more then TLC does. Loreal tried me out too. My mouth area tends to be my driest area and jawline. Which are my problem areas too. Ugh! So if the loreal worked for u this should too. Specially if your sensitive skin, like me. Big allergic reaction to Laura Mercier foundation yesterday and primer.

oh no! I purchased them but haven’t tried. Might avoid! I don’t need my skin to freak out! I bet they are loaded with fragrance too right? :-/

          • Elaine

Yep! They burned after moisturizer. So I used my Missha essence to help with extra moisturiser. No break outs tho

          • Isabella Muse

eep! I’m not prone to break outs but def don’t like tingly skincare!

They had it my store but I passed since I just want to try the night serum right now.

Muse, have you used AHA before? I know you tend to be dry (like me!) I personally cannot tolerate AHA. Not to freak you out, just a “don’t be surprised if your skin revolts!” <3

    • Isabella Muse

Yeah, I used the Paula’s Choice one but I honestly didn’t see major results with it so, I never repurchased. I don’t know if it counts but I religiously use the Philosophy Miracle Worker Pads, not really AHA but they do exfoliate. Thankfully no revolting 😀 Not sure what will happen with Drunk Elephant’s formula though!
