Holiday Makeup Advent Calendars are starting to role in but there’s still plenty upcoming! Benefit, Sephora, Bare Minerals, and Ciate are some of the first makeup and beauty advent calendars that have trickled in thus far.

What are some brands you hope to see an advent calendar from this year?

Here’s a look at what we’re seeing so far!

For me, the Holiday Makeup Advent Calendar takes its roots from the UK. Most of the Holiday Advent Calendars came out of Britain and slowly trickled into the US. I’d say they gained the most popularity last year but have been around for the past three years here in the US. I think this year things will come full circle and you’re going to see a lot more brands doing these calendars.

They are actually fun way to discover a brand’s offerings but won’t always be a good pick for those of us that are familiar with the brands that put them out. For example, the Benefit Countdown to Love Calendar from the Benefit Holiday 2013 Collection had a ton of gorgeous makeup and beauty offering inside but much of it I had already tried. This was a good pick for someone new to the brand in my opinion. The Tarte Petite Treats 12 Days of Tarte Deluxe Collection was also a calendar that had many Tarte favs inside and would be a great pick for a newbie to the brand!

Some of my favorites have been the QVC Beauty Christmas Advent Calendar and L’Occitane Holiday 2015 Advent Calendar because both introduced me to some new beauty goodies. Although it had plenty of repeats and reruns I had already tried I thought the The Body Shop Advent Calendar was also a good pick! Not to mention the stunning Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar!

L'Occitane Holiday Advent Calendar

This year, Sephora surprised us with their new Advent Calendar. Honestly, this came unexpectedly to me! I didn’t think I’d see one from Sephora for some reason but indeed the Sephora Holiday 2016 Collection includes a cute little Advent Calendar filled with beauty treats!

But if I had to choose one calendar this year I have a feeling it’ll be the Bare Minerals Countdown To Gorgeous that launched with the Bare Minerals Holiday 2016 Collection. This one is gorgeous and packed with color cosmetics! From eyeshadow to lipgloss to lipstick this little calendar has a variety of lovely goodies to countdown the days to Christmas with!

If makeup and skincare aren’t your thing, no problem, the Ciate Mini Mani Month Nail Polish Set will gift you with a selection of nail polishes to count down the days until Christmas!

Which brands are you hoping to see do a Advent Calendar this year?

I was actually kind of hoping to see if Urban Decay and Too Faced! I was also thinking I’d love to see calendars that included on exclusive item! Something we’ve never seen before or some limited edition color makeup item. That would really make these calendars even more interesting!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Thank you so much for posting this. Last year my amazing friend sent me the Ciate calendar and it was so much fun! I was wondering what was on offer and was just about to Google when I saw this post :-).

I never really got into these. Thank goodness. I have baskets and bins full of travel and trial size cosmetics and fragrances. Also, at this time of year I spend my money on the fragrance gift sets and palettes. Those are the killer for me.

The L’Occitane calendar was my favorite last year! I am hoping they do another but am wondering if the second time around will be disappointing as second time arounds usually are;) There are so many to pick from, which is great. I like the 24 day calendars much better than the 12.

Advent calendars don’t really appeal to me; but then again, I travel with my full sized makeup.

I wish there were a drugstore version of this! Like a Target Beauty Advent Calendar!

I haven’t seen any in Aus as yet, but I really love the concept and, of course, I want all of them!
