Laura Mercier Fall In Love Face Illuminator Collection

Which makeup palette or gift set sold out fastest at the Sephora Holiday 2016 Event? The Laura Mercier Fall In Love Face Illuminator Collection! Yup, not the Too Faced the Chocolate Shop, not the Tarte Pretty Paintbox, the Laura Mercier Fall In Love Face Illuminator Collection was the item that everyone grabbed up quick as you please.

I must be delusional about the popularity of highlighters! I always think highlighters are such an Instagram thing but I don’t actually see anyone walking around with perfectly contoured and strobbed faces around Manhattan. Or maybe I’m just not hanging around the right places.

If you asked me what would sell out the quickest during Sephora’s Holiday Preview Event I would have quickly rattled off some of the larger palettes from Too Faced and Tarte. Nope, those stuck around a bit but when the doors opened at 8:30 at my store everyone quickly navigated over to the Laura Mercier display and grabbed up her new highlighting palette. I didn’t have a chance to look at it. Granted, there were a lot of people in the store and only a few of the palettes available but really? Who would think this would be the item everyone wanted the most!

As I was checking out a rep from the brand had a table set up right by the registers and she handed me a sample of primer and lipstick and asked if I saw the new highlighting palette. I told her no, I hadn’t. She explained that Kim K’s glow was thanks to Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder and how big a fan Kim was of the powder. I glanced at it and mentioned how pretty it was and too bad it was sold out! She quickly snapped it closed, placed it back in the box, and said, “Here, want this one?” And I somehow, someway didn’t refuse because I had to see for myself what all the excitement was about.

Mind you, I’ve told myself I won’t buy anymore pretty highlighters because I tend to stare at them and never use them. But my curiosity got the better of me after everyone quickly purchased this one.

It contains Face Illuminator Powder in the following shades:

  • Addiction (gilded gold highlight)
  • Devotion (cool highlight)
  • Seduction (soft bronze highlight)
  • Indescretion (warm rose gold highlight)

I’m going to test it out shortly and see what all the fuss is about.

Did you grab it?

I’m kind of passed because I just bought the full size Laura Mercier highlighter this summer- and it’s in this palette. Ugh. I kind of want to still get the palette- I think it would be good for travel

I’m not convinced I need it but it sure is pretty! I don’t own any of the full sizes so seemed like a logical purchase or so I tell myself haha!

even if you don’t use them on your cheeks, they look like they would be beautiful eye shadows. People aren’t walking around DC or Baltimore with sharp eyebrows, perfect contour and highlights on the regular either.

I agree with you about the DC-area, ruth. It was pretty but I passed on it. I have enough highlighter.

Looking forward to your thoughts! It does look pretty, but I want to see Stila’s palette as well.

I love her palettes and I picked up Laura Mercier palette exclusive to Nordstroms recently and I love it. It had a bronzer and highlighter along with eight? eyeshadows (yes including African Violet, which I love). 😀

I’ve only used her eyeshadow palettes and they are the only ones I hit pan on.

I can’t wait to see what Stila has in store for us 😀 LM is great, she has remained awesome even when BB went downhill!

There were only two at the Sephora I visited, and a lot more of everything else. So at my Sephora, I don’t know if the Laura Mercier palette was actually more popular, or it just seemed that way because of limited stock. I did manage to snag one though.

I picked it up and use it specifically as an eye shadow. I wore it today with some brown eyeliner and mascara and loved the look. Incidentally, its the only holiday item I purchased. I also got my face soap and a Kat Von D liner.
I guess I should mention I never wear highlighter and am the last person on the planet to attempt to strobe. Take care,
    Anna

Way too many temptations this time of year. This looks beautiful, but suspect it would go mostly unused by me, like that Anastasia Sun Dipped Glow Kit that I thought would make my life more beautiful in every way, but now is pretty much just adding clutter to my cabinet.
