Tarte Young, Wild & Free

The Tarte Young, Wild & Free Amazonian Clay Palette ($28) launched earlier this Summer and I have to admit it is probably one of my favorite Tarte eyeshadow palettes of the moment.

Why?

Because it contains simple shades that work well together. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good eyeshadow palette that includes 100’s of shades! But in the morning, when I’m half awake, I really want to grab a palette that will apply easily but still giving an outstanding eye look without a lot of work.

That’s exactly why I love the Tarte Young, Wild & Free Amazonian Clay Palette.

Tarte Young, Wild & Free Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

The Tarte Young, Wild & Free Amazonian Clay Palette comes housed in a small gold mirror palette that contains a generously size mirror and 8 shades of limited edition Tarte Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow. Heads up, the packaging is a magnetic for finger prints! Tarte also includes a dual-sided get the look card for creating two looks with the shades in this palette.

Shades include:

  • Simple Life (beige)
  • Happy Place (charcoal brown)
  • Virtue (antique gold)
  • Weekend (light brown)
  • Lucky Charm (rose gold)
  • Dream Team (copper)
  • Party (champagne highlighter)
  • Wow (dark charcoal liner)

This is the perfect size for travel and there are a range of great natural, neutral shades of color here to create some gorgeous eye looks. It’s also the perfect, “I’m in a hurry, I need to get my eyeshadow on and go!” palette. The shades all just jive and work well together to create lovely looks very easily. The palette is made in the USA for those interested. The formula is excellent with fantastic pigmented and the soft, velvety texture that Tarte is known for. I had absolutely no application issues! The shadows are all smooth, velvety perfection with easy application and blending. I love the color scheme here as there are some beautiful smoky taupe shades that work well with my brown eyes. I also didn’t feel like the shades were all a rerun of past Tarte eyeshadow palettes.

All in all, the Tarte Young, Wild & Free Amazonian Clay Palette is a wonderful representation of the brand. If you love smokier taupe shades this is the palette for you. It’s a perfect little palette for quick, elegant looks that will work fabulously for Fall looks!

I bought this palette on a whim and I absolutely love it. You did a great job describing it. Very nice shadows and very wearable!

You know how people on YouTube always say youtube made me buy this well now I can say that you made me buy this.
    Thanks for the review.

I have this palette and I do like it! The strange thing however is that the color Happy Times is a totally different color in my palette… So strange!! It is a shimmery taupe color in stead of the carcoal brown…

Love the look you created! Really suits you!!
I wish Tarte would come out with a similar palette but with more brown shades and less plum. All of the Tarte palettes I have contain a good amount of darker purple mattes and while I do like them, I find I reach for them less. They don’t look great with my coloring. Love Tarte’s formula though.

Looking at these pix, a lot of these browns (like “happy place” and “wow”) look a bit more plummy to my eye! but perhaps this is one I’ll need to check out in person. 🙂

This looks amazing on you! I got this pallet when it first came out and I absolutely adore it. It is perfect for simple days and has enough sass to vamp it up for other occasions. I honestly think it is my favorite Tarte pallet and I have quite a few. Thanks for mirroring my thoughts about it because this is actually one I bought without seeing your review first!!! You are the queen Ms. Muse.

thanks Sharon! I couldn’t agree more! Def a palette that can be used day or night for classy looks 😀 I have to say, I feel the same way! I have a lot of tarte palettes but this is quickly becoming a fav of mine! Yay! awww thanks you flatter me <3!

Which palette do you prefer, this one or the Rainforest of the Sea? Looking to buy my first Tarte palette and confused as to which to go for. Thanks

    • Isabella Muse

they are actually two very different formulas! The Rainforest of the Sea is more of a gel based eyeshadow and this more Tarte’s original velvety formula. I like both, they are both excellent quality but rainforest does have more color options! If you don’t mind the lack of colors, this is a great palette! If you want more shade variety the Rainforest of the Sea palette is a better option!

Thanks for replying so quickly! I really like the look you did, it looks great! Unfortunately I didn’t pick this palette up but I have the first Rainforest one and the new Dream Big ones. Do you know if either has a similar shade to Happy Place? The others I can replicate?
