Yes, the Too Faced The Chocolate Shop Smells Like Chocolate!

Possibly the most exciting element of the Too Faced Holiday 2016 Collection and the Too Faced The Chocolate Shop is the fact everything smells like chocolate among other scents! For example, Too Faced Grand Palette apparently has not one but three different scented palettes which are Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Coffee, and Eggnog Latte!

I admit when I saw the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Blush I had a Willy Wonka moment. “Lick an orange it tastes like an orange, lick a pineapple it tastes like a pineapple…” Wouldn’t it be great if each individual shade smelled like its name? The blush would smell like Chocalte Covered Strawberry, the Cake Batter eyeshadow would smell like cake, the Toffee Crunch eyeshadow would smell like toffee…..

Wouldn’t that be cool?

Anyway, it’s funny as we had a rather lengthy discussion in my Sweet Peach Palette review about potentially seeing other scented makeup products from Too Faced. Many of you wanted pumpkin or apple scented products for Fall 2016. Sadly, that’s not happening but at least we have yummy scents treats arriving for the Holidays right?

Sephora Rouge Members get early first dibs on the Too Faced The Chocolate Shop but don’t worry within the next two weeks I’m sure everyone else can buy it. Plus, hey, tomorrow Too Faced Holiday 2016 launches on at toofaced.com and we can all overindulge in some of their Holiday goodies!

The first thing I noticed about the palette when I opened it was the overwhelming chocolate scent. I thought the Sweet Peach Palette was kind of weak! Everyone said the smell was incredible and strong but my palette was a fluke or my nose isn’t working so well because I honestly didn’t notice much scent. This palette however, is strongly scented. I don’t really like chocolate or the smell of it but I admit I loved the novelty of the idea. Of course, sensitive users might not appreciate the scent!

I’m not going to lie, the packaging is bulky as hell but if you love Shag, aka Josh Agle, you’ll appreciate the art on this palette!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hi Muse. I am not a ViB rouge or ViB sephora member but this set looks cute. I will wait for reviews.

i’m not supposed to be buying makeup palettes this year but like you said in your other too faced Christmas post, as a New Yorker this packaging is so getting to me!! I love it! I’m torn between this one and the Grand Palette! Do you happen to know if the Grand Palette will go to Ulta? I always prefer going there for their reward points program! (p.s. still waiting to hear back from ebay vero…)

    • Isabella Muse

Likewise! I can’t help it, it’s NYC themed! How can we resist? I dunno. Someone was asking in the other post I did, I think you MIGHT see it at Sephora but not Ulta. UGH! I hope they reply soon and take it down before the auction ends so you can get some satisfaction !

oh man! how lame of ulta lol..i may hit rouge for next year with sephora then. pigmentation on the shadows are good?

haven’t tried it yet! Still working on the Tarte one. It’s a hit or miss with Holiday palettes! Sometimes great, sometimes meh 😀 I’ll review shortly let ya know!

At the risk of being a party pooper today, it’s a big pass for me. I’ve gone off of Too Faced generally (the cutesy, coy, wasteful packaging is just too much IMO), and scented products are a big no-no for me with my allergies and sensitivities. And like TF holiday in the past, I’d bet this is Made in China.

These sets are all so tempting! I might have to just not buy any makeup next year, and just get the holiday sets. Cute packaging gets me every time!
