And yet another Ready Eyeshadow Palette has emerged for Holiday 2016 from Bare Minerals. At a glance the Bare Minerals The Cashmeres Ready Eyeshadow 5.0 actually looks like a blush or highlighter palette but it’s actually filled with five rather large matte eyeshadows.

The Bare Minerals The Cashmeres Ready Eyeshadow 5.0 includes five 0.07 oz neutral matte eyeshadows. Or at least they call them neutral, I cool it a mix of cool and perhaps like one neutral shade! It’s an odd set up for a Ready Eyesahdow Palette as these appear to be blushes if you look at them quickly.

Shades include:

  • Crème (buttermilk)
  • Toasty (ground nutmeg)
  • Delightful (pink taupe)
  • Cozy (misty heather)
  • Ahhh (blushing ivory)

This one will set you back $40 which is absurd considering the Wish List Ready 12.0 is $45 and includes 12 shades for a total of 0.48 oz where as this includes a total of 0.35 oz. I mean there’s a five buck difference and about 0.13 oz of product that separates the two but the Wish List contains a good deal more variety for the price.

But, of course, I feel compelled to buy this as I’m such a mush for the Ready Eyeshadow formula.

Bare Minerals The Cashmeres Ready Eyeshadow 5.0 is available now at Ulta.com.

P.S. Who watches Scream Queens? OMG they killed Chad! I love me some dumb blond Chad! I’m behind watching so if he’s alive by some chance don’t tell me! I’m still mourning his loss.

RIP Chad.

I thought you would be mourning Walking Dead…

At first glance, I th0ught this was a face palette. Skipping this one

I read the comic so it wasn’t a big surprise for me although they did twist things around 🙂 I won’t mention here what the twist was just in case someone didn’t see it yet, but yeah, that wasn’t exactly how things went down in the comic 🙂

The price on this is ridiculous.
As far as Scream Queens, I’m happy with Chad’s fate. The Chanel-o-ween episode was hilarious but I’m worried about another characters fate!

    • Isabella Muse

Don’t worry I think Chanel #3 and Denise are fine! Not so sure about poor Chad 🙁

  • Agona

I’m glad for one non-neutral palette from them–my SIL and friends don’t wear neutrals so I was low on gift ideas!

I want this palette because like you, I love BM’s Ready formula AND it’s all matte! I’m confused by the price, too, so I did a Google search to see who else might be selling it for a more reasonable price. QVC had it for $28 but it’s says not available now. Not sure what that means but I have it in my cart at Ulta.com and haven’t yet pulled the trigger.

    • Isabella Muse

I noticed it was on QVC as well! I’m not sure when it debuted there though, could have been months ago for all I know! I want it as well and ended up purchasing it like the crazy person I am! I simply can’t resist a BE Ready palette :-/

      • Rachael

It debuted a couple of weeks ago on QVC and sold out the same day because they kept touting it was a limited shipment and wouldn’t be available for the rest of the year. I got on the wait list and it’s $33 including tax and shipping and now it pops up at Ulta for $40?! I find that a bit shady…..

        • Agona

QVC used to have awesome BE bundles or auto-deliveries; not so much this year…

          • Kathy

I didn’t get a single AD all year — especially the TSVs with the BareSkin foundation. I tried it when it came out and I hated it.

What’s especially disappointing this year is that we’re not getting the wonderful Holiday AD TSV that was such a great value (usually right around $40, 9 or 10 items). I got my first in 2004 (the Goddess collection), and while I’d used some BE before that, that particular collection is what made me switch to BE for 90% of my makeup. But I didn’t get last year’s Holiday AD TSV, and I didn’t buy the TSV two weeks ago, either. I would have used the blush and the lipcolor, and those two items alone weren’t worth $60.

        • Kathy

Not shady — just typical of the deals the Q makes with its vendors. They’ll often have an item for sale at a much lower price than you can get elsewhere — even on the vendor’s own website. But if you listened to the presentation, they said it was THEIR only order of the year — they didn’t say it wouldn’t be available anywhere else afterward.

But if you got on the waitlist, the price shouldn’t have changed from the price it was during the presentation if you ordered it that day. I’ve been on plenty of waitlists and the price has never increased.

          • Rachael

The price didn’t increase on the waitlist, it is $40 at Ulta. I have found prices to be fairly equivalent (when you have to add tax + shipping to the sale price) but QVC throws in a brush or something extra to make it more worthwhile to buy from them. Or it’s an exclusive. $10-15 extra for the same item at Ulta seems like a big difference to me.

          • Rachael

*The price didn’t increase on the waitlist, it is $33 total ($28 + tax and shipping). Sorry, somehow that got cut off of my original reponse.

    • Agona

Yeah, I was surprised by the price too but I think the pans are double? They look like they’re .07 oz each and I think they’re normally .04 oz each for eye shadows (I think). I tried to find the oz’s for 8.0 but I couldn’t so I think I’m basing my math off the recent 12.0 and 14.0 palettes.

  • Christina D.

Well then, crazy is as crazy does because I’m going to order it, too. I’m just waiting for a GWP because right now, the items in my cart total around $70+ and Ulta is good about “freebies.”

  • Kathy

This debuted on the Q on TSV day — and is sold out pretty quickly. I think they had under 3000 units and it was only presented once, as I recall. I was lucky enough to grab it (at $28 it was a no-brainer). You get a lot for that price — instead of the usual smaller square Ready shadow size, you get a palette that has five shadows that are the size of a blush from one of their face palettes. They’ve done a couple of face palettes that have one or two shadows of this size, but never one with five.

These are nice, wearable no-makeup colors. They seemed to last longer than the usual run of Ready shadows do, and they didn’t fade or muddy up, which is a problem I’ve had with Ready from the get-go (yes, even over primer). I applied them around 5 in the morning, and they still looked good at 8 that night, when I finally removed my makeup.

Is it worth $40? Maybe, maybe not. But at $28, it was an easy buy.

    • Isabella Muse

I got it, I’m a sucker for Ready Eyeshadow! I’m relieved to hear it is great 😀

  • Anne

The price is less of an issue with this palette for me, because I’d use all of these shades to the bottom, rather than using up half of them and the having to decide should I throw away the palette or put it in a drawer because I don’t want to “waste” that muddy green shadow.

  • danadoo

I do really like these colors, but i think this palette could really use another darker shade to choose from. This seems very limiting.

  • Agona

Muse, I just got mine and wanted to let you know that this was apparently meant to be a palette of base/blending colors (like 4.0 Comfort Zone or Simple Pleasures). I’m a little disappointed since I very rarely use all over base colors; I may still keep for work looks though because I have to do a “no makeup” makeup look for work.

    • Isabella Muse

hmmm! Thanks Agona! I’m glad I didn’t haul it as I’m think I’m good with base shades Thanks for updating!
