It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette ($42) is a new Holiday 2016 perfecting face palette that includes some of It Cosmetics’ bestselling face powders, blushes, highlighter, and bronzer. If you missed the It Cosmetics Its All About You! Customers Favorites that launched last June on QVC, you’ll be happy to get your hands on this palette as it features the same It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Face Palette that was included in that palette but with a new range of shades.

My review and swatches are below.

The first thing you’ll notice about the It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette is the delightful metallic pink packaging. This comes in a very chic pink compact that has Je Ne Sais Quoi scrawled across the front. It’s a beautifully presented compact that’s cute yet elegant at the same top. Pressing the front lip of the palette allows it to open and you’ll be presented with a very large mirror and the four powders nestled inside. Each powder is also generously sized, heck in some cases bigger than the original size! For example, Bye Bye Pores Blush is 0.19 oz in size when purchased individually but this includes 0.22 oz of blush!

The palette includes the following powders:

  • Perfect Lighting Luminizer (0.21 oz)
  • Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder (0.22 oz)
  • Bye Bye Pores Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi (0.21 oz)
  • Sunshine In A Compact Bronzer (0.22 oz)

The original palette that came with the It Cosmetics Its All About You! Customers Favorites Today’s Special Value included a Hello Light Cream, Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder, a bright pink blush, and a matte bronzer. If you have the original palette you should feel comfortable enough purchasing the Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection because the blush is different, the highlighter is a different shade and now a powder not a cream, and the bronzer is a smidge deeper. The transparent Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder remains the same though.

I’m actually disappointed in the Bye Bye Pores Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi. I own the first Bye Bye Pores Blush in the shade Naturally Pretty that launched with the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakthroughs Set on QVC in March. It was soft, finely milled, and very pigmented. The blush in this palette is much, much sheerer and barely showed up on my skin sadly and I felt the formula was a little denser but still silky but just not a good presentation of the original in my opinion. If you have lighter skin this might be a good pick but medium, tanned, or darker will be a bit disappointed.

I like the fact It took the initiative to veer away from including a cream highlighter in this palette. Housing creams and powders in the same compact makes for a mess in my opinion. This time around you’ll get a soft, velvety light beige highlighter. This one clings to drier areas so be sure to prep well prior to application if you have drier skin. It produces a very pretty luminosity on cheeks without being overly sparkly or glittery.

I actually love Sunshine In a Compact as it is one of the easier to use bronzers out there. This has a soft, silky consistency and applies very easily on my face. You can complete your look by using the soft, silky transparent Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder which acts to set foundation and concealer. I actually like using it under my eyes to brighten the area up but be careful as for a transparent it is pretty pigmented so a little goes a long way.

The It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette is a complete look in a palette as it contains all the essentials to add warmth, color, and highlight to your face plus a setting powder to keep it all wearing long and strong. I do so wish they blush was more pigmented though as I believe this was where things failed a little. This might be a good pick if you enjoy lighter, sheerer blush shades but personally, I desire way more color than this produces. Bye Bye Pores Blush is a fantastic formula but it is poorly represented in this palette in my opinion. If it wasn’t for the blush, I’d be hailing this one as a must have.

The It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette is available now at Ulta and Ulta.com.

Thank you for this review! I so value your opinion and comments and had been waiting for you to do this one! I leave to travel on Saturday and wanted to take this..so I bought it last week even without your review. And sadly, I was already planning a return for the exact same reasons about the blush shade! You were the confirmation that I needed that it is not just me finding the blush shade too light for my medium tone. I LOVE the Naturally Pretty shade as well. I have the bronzer and agree with your review on that! I have the Bye Bye Pores( in loose form) but wanted the pressed…. the highlighter was just so-so for showing up on me..
So the palette will go back..I still use my CC+ Radiance Palette so I am happy to have that!
Thank you for the excellent job you do in reviews, swatches, pics and comments!!

Hi Phyllis! Aw wish I had the review up sooner for you before you purchased it and regretted it. I was puzzled what happened with the blush! Naturally Pretty is a delightful shade with such a smooth formula but Je Ne Sais Quoi is awful sheer and very dense! I was terribly disappointed 🙁 Aw my pleasure xoxoxox I’m so glad you enjoyed the review and found it helpful!

No worries! Ulta will accept the return and I will have some extra cash for my trip to NYC!

Thanks! I have 2 daughters and some grands there! Have you tried the Je Ne Sais Quios Cream blush? I did and it has more pigment than this powdered one!

I ordered this one pretty much right away, and really no regrets, though I can’t say I’d be eager to buy any of the 4 products in full size, based on this presentation. Still, I’ll use all 4 of the items in the palette. My compact doesn’t close very securely, but it is pretty.

    • Isabella Muse

How did the blush work out for you? I was disappointed it was so sheer! Thankfully no issues with my palette closing!

The blush is really underwhelming to me. I am still never sure if I’m using blush right; I’d rather have it too sheer than look like a clown. I use the one in this palette if I have the palette out already, or if I feel like a very soft look. I don’t think it does anything special for my pores. Around the same time that I got this palette, I also got the Becca Blushed With Light palette, and those blushes are preferable, to me. Today for the first time I am wearing the new ColourPop blush, Bardot, and I think I love it. Not sure I’ve ever said that about a blush before.

Likewise, very underwhelming and uneventful for me too! Its really quite sheer but yes, I totally can relate about clown cheeks! I’m very heavy handed so sheer is sometimes good but in this case I felt like it produced no color at all :-/ gotta love Colourpop 🙂 and their great prices too!

You know I am just messing with you. I have to tease you a little bit now and then! 😀
On a kind of funny note… I told you I keep my niece stocked with WEN and her favorite IT Cosmetics stuff. I was dropping a box off with her dad yesterday and when I handed it over he said, “What’s in here a dead body?” I laughed so hard! LOL!
        I don’t spoil her though, I would never! 😉
I never spoil any of my nieces or my nephew; that is just crazy talk! 😀
