Lush Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion Review

Lush Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion is a new, sadly limited edition Twilight scented body cream that can be used on your hands or your body which released with the Lush Holiday/Christmas 2016 Collection.

I’m actually not a massive Lush Twilight fan girl but I know people who live and die for it (ahem my sister!). Twilight has launched in many different products over the years and has gathered a cult following thanks to it’s light lavender and tonka fragrance that’s users find soothing and relaxing. I like it well enough but it isn’t my favorite Lush fragrance! That title would go to Snowcake, Snow Fairy, Honey, I Washed the Kids, and I Love Juicy.

But in the case of Lush Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion I might just be one person to sign a petition to keep it on past Christmas.

I was attracted to Lush Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion ($9.95-$23.95) because of it’s beautiful purple shade. I love purple, there’s something so terribly appealing about the shade! But this purple hued body cream isn’t only pretty but rather soothing as well. The scent is that of an herbally lavender with hint of tonka that gives the scent a little bit of a zip but for the most part lavender does dominate here and gives off a very relaxing, comforting scent which makes this a perfect product to use before bed time. I’d liken the scent to Lush Dream Cream but with a bit more lavender.

It contains a blend of almond oil, oatmeal, and cocoa butter and has a thick, creamy consistency that absorbs easily and leaves skin with a lingering scent. I find the formula works wonderfully on my drier skin and absorbs easily without making me sticky, tacky, or greasy. I don’t really love it as a hand cream unless I’m using it at night. For daily use as a hand cream it’s a bit too heavy but at night I find the consistency just fine!

It surprised me as I didn’t really think I’d get as much use out of it as I did! I’m nearly down half the pot at this point and likely will go back and purchase another before it disappears. Lush should consider making this one permanent.

Twilight fans, don’t hesitate, you’ll want to snag this one before it disappears.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Yes please, i hope they will make this permanent. Love it! I bought it one week ago, it’s so nice to use it before going to sleep.

I love lavender and I love ylang ylang but this smells sickly sweet to me and I’m not sure why. I’m not sure what tonka bean smells like so not sure if it’s that or maybe it could it be the cocoa butter.

I am devastated that the amount of dye in this product has cost me $500 worth of damage!

My bedroom toilet seat which I use all the time, I have cleaned with alcohol, bleach and ammonia all at different times and it still has a purple grey print of someone sitting on the toilet seat!

My roommates toilet, which I only used a couple times is also stained.

My sheets I had to wash and the duvet cover for my down comforter already went out in the trash because it was too stained, wouldn’t come out. I went into the Lush store to let them know about this issue and they said they are only for selling products and they couldn’t help me.

Anthony 82419 is the product maker and batch number 28-NOV-16 I used that destroyed my home and cost me 10 hours of my time for cleaning, which really didn’t work on anything except my sheets. I think because they were a darker color.

I normally love their products and have never had an issue like this before, but now I will think twice.
