Another Holiday 2016 Vault is on the way from NYX Cosmetics! This week the NYX <3's L.A. Library Set (or the NYX Loves L.A. Library Set if you will!) was blowing up minds and Internet and no wonder as this cute set contains a collection of 10 eyeshadows named after places in California as well as 2 pressed pigments.

Take a peek!

NYX def has us covered this Holiday season! I just recently got the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Vault and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Vaults and they are pretty damn amazing. Truly these are the lip gift sets to end all lip sets out there. They are jammed pack with a variety of colors and are some of the biggest lip sets I’ve seen out there for the Holidays!

Now the NYX <3's L.A. Library Set has my eye! I'm curious how this looks in person and how big it might be. The packaging is like a little set of books and each eyeshadow slides out and is housed in its own little pan and compact! The set includes 10 eyeshadows as well as 2 pressed pigment and is priced at $24.99. nyx-loves-l-a-eyeshadow-library

Cute right?

This one might have to get added to my Holiday wish list.

How about yours?

I feel like my Holiday makeup shopping is almost complete but I know I’m lying to myself as brands will likely come at us with all new surprised as we get nearer to the Holidays not to mention the fact we are bound to get a crazy amount of Black Friday and Cyber Monday Vaults and Sets.

Can anyone say broke?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Oh I empathize my dear Sista. I have been spending waaaay too much; I have Catholic guilt for a few hours but then something else I really want pops up and into my shopping cart. Le sigh.

Not sure what to think of this NYX Library. The colors looks great in the photos, but I don’t trust NYX quality when it comes to eyeshadows (although I admit they’ve improved). Also, holy wasteful packaging, Batman! Where the heck would I store this thing? I also favor palettes over singles when it comes to eyeshadows.

catholic guilt lmao! I have that too! You went to catholic school didn’t you? It’s ingrained in us 🙂

  • Susan

Interesting, but **four** medium-to-dark gray shades? Meh. Doesn’t look holiday-ish at all to me. Where are the green eye shadows any more? Won’t someone please think of the children, I mean the greens??? 😉

We are sisters on so many levels: yes, I went to private Catholic school from kindergarten all the way through college. Excellent education with a side helping of Catholic guilt. 🙂

Haha likewise but not college! I had a scholarship to Marymount but ended up going to NYU. Too much Catholic guilt to attend a catholic college too haha 😀 I can’t believe how many catholic schools are closing!

Yeah, and it’s sad. For all my joking and cynicism, I’m glad to have been brought up with that background. Not going to get political and or religious, but there is a certain beauty that is instilled and still gets triggered whenever I walk into a church or cathedral.

And the Italian is me is thrilled to be off on Columbus Day!

I agree completely. I have to admit I’ve become more and more of a cynic in my older age. I’m a bit of an atheist to my parent’s horror but I’m the same, I still appreciate that certain something when walking into a church. Perhaps not an atheist but more of an agnostic 🙂 haha I’m half Italian and sadly I have to work! 🙂

I don’t really like the colors and the idea of pulling out one single shadow at a time to do a look sounds like it could be really annoying…. But I used to live in LA and I love all these places and it’s just filling me with strong nostalgia…. It’s a little tempting because of that 🙂 But I’m not the biggest NYX fan so I think I’ll be able to TMO myself of this set. Now if LORAC or NARS ever did a LA themed set……

Omg! Your comment Christine made me laugh out loud! I’m also catholic but don’t really practice it. Too funny!
I wonder on the quality of this Nyx palettes? The design i love living in S.Califirnia i would love to get for my daughter born here. Not sure whether she would be interested in the brightest colors her catholic mom is a more free spirit wearing makeup than her she likes more soft nude shades. Lol! Absolutely love your comment!

    • Isabella Muse

haha! Much to your parent’s horror? 😀 Not sure on this but NYX is a hit or miss, sometimes great, sometimes not so great! Glad I made ya laugh 🙂

I think I might have a lipgloss palette my daughter dies not use any more and gave to me but I hardly use and have not purchased from them a thing yet. The colors are very similar to one of the L’Oréal new palettes.

  • Saspant

Purchased this via Ulta.com, just received it a few days ago but so far I am loving it. NYX can be hit or miss on the quality of eyeshadows in their palettes but their singles are fantastic and these are the same quality as their singles.

I also ordered the two gift sets with the palettes that look like the Avant POP palettes they have, sadly the gift bag palettes are a bit drier in texture and don’t compare to the nicer quality of the Avant POP palettes.
