Sugarpill Cosmetics Trinket Liquid Lip Color Review & Swatches
Sugarpill Cosmetics Trinket Liquid Lip Color launched at the start of the New Year and sold out in the blink of an eye. I don’t really migrate towards long-wearing liquid lipsticks but Twinkle was on my wish list and I was determined to get one. No luck, it sold out super fast and I was unable to get my hands on it.
Fast forward to earlier this month and Sugarpill Trinket Liquid Lip Color relaunched much to my delight and I quickly snatched up from Beautylish which by the way has the most excellent customer service on the planet.
Check out my review and swatches below.
Oh my god! Sugarpill Trinket Liquid Lip Color is my everything at the moment. Sadly, I suck at taking photos so, my pictures do not do this incredible color justice. I didn’t know what to expect from this shade and I feared it would be some sort of bubblegum pink that I couldn’t wear but it turned into this incredible dusky pink that was oh so flattering. Ugh I love it so hard.
This is likely one of the most unique shades of matte liquid lipstick you’ll come across. Sugarpill laced this one with gold shimmer and the effect is ridiculously brilliant.
This formula is a very creamy, mouse-like texture that’s slightly gritty due to the shimmer in the formula. The shade goes on a rosy mauve and the shimmer isn’t noticeable in the least. I admit I was disappointed. I was all, “Wait, where’s the shimmer everyone is raving on and on about?” but it’s there! As the shade sets the shimmer becomes more and more prominent. It’ll take a few seconds to fully set but as it dries down the gold shimmer is gorgeously obvious. The effect is stunning ad reflects very well in sunlight. The gold shimmer looks so beautiful against the dusky rose. Below I added a little clear gloss and the shade morphed into a beautiful peachy golden rose! It really is quite a unique and interesting shade of liquid lipstick.
The color is very pigmented, a single swipe yields full color pay off. It wears for a solid seven hours but it does migrate towards the inner corner of my mouth at around hour five. The shimmer tends to migrate towards the center of my lips as well and the longer you were it the grittier it feels. It isn’t drying though nor hydrating but doesn’t have that tight consistency that most long-wearing lipsticks are known for. The color does flake a bit at the final hour of wear and isn’t as smooth or as even as the initial application. Sensitive users might not love the orange scent and flavor but I thought it was pleasant (it reminds me of baby aspirin!)!
I can see myself buying more shades like this should Sugarpill release them! The sparkle adds a unique twist to the standard matte liquid lipstick formula and add a little clear gloss and you have a totally different shade! Clear gloss also allows the formula to wear a good deal easier without the migration or the grittiness I experience when wearing it without.
All in all, this shade is unique enough to warrant a purchase. It has some wear issues but I loved the color and thought it was well worth the purchase.
If you matte liquid lipsticks and want to experience something a little different, Sugarpill Cosmetics Trinket Liquid Lip Color definitely brings it to the table!
