Unlike, the Colourpop Mama’s Apple Pie Set, the Hello Pretty Face Set actually has a solid mix of shades that work well together. The only shade I felt that didn’t quite belong was Bento Boy but aside from that the other shades all worked together to create one very pretty look.
I’ve already tried Colourpop’s eyeshadows, blushes, and highlighters but this is my first time trying out their Ultra Matte Lip Liquid Lipstick and Ultra Glossy Lip Lipgloss. Ultra Matte Lip did so surprise me! This was a lightweight, highly comfortable formula that sets to a matte long-wearing finish that doesn’t budge for a solid eight hours. This formula is runny but applies easily without being patchy or migrating during application. The formula is completely opaque and the color is a beautifully festive bright red with a blue undertone. It has no flavor nor any fragrance. I never felt it was terribly tight or drying during the wear nor did it flake up or crack through the wear. I was rather surprised as I expected it to be a moisture sucking formula but it wasn’t at all. Ultra Glossy Lip was delightful as well but laced with a ton of shimmer which gave it a frosty finish on my lips. It wore for a good four hours on me but didn’t have a sticky, tacky uncomfortable finish. The formula is thick yet applies evenly and smooth on my lips and felt lightly hydrating through the wear. It had no flavor nor any fragrance. Although laced with tons of shimmer it still wore nicely all its own but looked best applied as an overcoat on top of another lipstick. Below I wore it over Ultra Matte Lip in Ribbon and it gives the shade a very pretty shimmery and glossy finish.
One of the things I liked most in this collection was the Super Shock Cheek shade in Fun with Friends (I’m wearing it in the photo below) which is a rather delightful golden orange-y peach! This lit up my face with gorgeous luminous color. They describe it as a warm pink but on me it’s an orange-y peach. I won’t go into details about the formula as I’ve reviewed the Super Shock Cheek formula many times in the past. You can click here for a better review about the wear times, formula, texture, etc…!
Bento Box was the most pigmented eyeshadow shade in this collection where as both Sticker Street and Juicy Apple were the sheerest. I really liked Sticker Sheet a lot as it was a beautiful wash of color that looked natural on my lids without being too made up. Juicy Apple is more of an overcoat shadow which is how I wore it below over Sticker Sheet . This is a lot of shimmer but not a ton of color but it still adds a lovely wash of shimmer on bare lids and it looks really pretty over a variety of different eyeshadow shades especially browns or other neutrals. Lastly this set also includes a highlighter shade which I actually didn’t use in my look below! I felt like the color dulled out the pretty glow from Fun with Friends so I didn’t use it on my look below. It has the same texture as the Super Shock Cheek Blush formula and a little more details and thoughts can be read about the highlighter formula in my review by clicking here.
You ever buy a makeup gift set and end up liking two items out of it and hating on a whole bunch of the other stuff? That’s the worst! I’m happy to say that the ColourPop x Hello Kitty Hello Pretty Set had a lot more loves than misses! I adored the blush, loved the shadows, and thought the liquid lip color was absolutely stunning. This is a set that’s well worth picking up!
