About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Victoria Beckham And her husband are both out of work living in their mansions! They need the money. Lol.

This is for someone who is rich and likes to blow money or someone who is not smart with their finances. Sorry, a light up mirror box thing with eight pieces of makeup doesn’t impress me. You could buy the biggest and best Simplehuman light up mirror and tons of makeup for that price. If I had a spare$1,200 I’d give it to charity to help somebody in need, but that is just me.

I agree. This is obscene. It is so off putting seeing these celebrities putting out makeup collections but then charging outrageous amounts. I never was a fan of her to begin with and this just reaffirms that. Yes, people, give the $1200 to your local homeless shelter or food pantry.

I really don’t understand why it is soooo expensive given the contents come to no where near that amount ($582 if my calculations are correct). I guess they just know that some people will pay that! Also a lot is sold out in the UK and US so it might be the only way to get some stuff if money is no object!

I did get 2 items from the collection which I absolutely love. The bitter clove eye metal eye shadow (like most sparkle shadows best applied with a fingertip) and the Modern Mercury highlighter which might just be my favourite highlighter ever. The packaging is so nice and very retro. Feels like a real luxury product.

Nearly picked up the red lipstick and green eyeshadow at an airport recently but decided against it when I swatched them.

I reckon the collection will return on a permanent basis in the future. Someone who works for the Estee Lauder group suggested it might to me recently.
