Blame it on the gold packaging, blame it on Halloween, but the House of Lashes Holiday Gem Lash Set has truly been the most fun I’ve had with false eyelashes in a while. Lord knows, I’ve always terribly scared of false lashes! Add to the fact that I feel overly made up when I use them and I end up skipping them entirely.

But this fab Sephora House of Lashes Holiday Gem Lash Set might tempt you over to the dark side.

With Halloween falling on a Monday this year my game plan was to enjoy it all weekend and have a fairly low key stay at home Halloween with friends on Monday night! This included a Hammer Horror marathon (hey, Peter Cushing shout out!), take out Thai, snack size candy a plenty, and me in a t-shirt, sweats, and false lashes.

I mean if not on Halloween when would be a good time to try out this set right? I suck at application but I still had fun trying these on for size!

The set includes House of Lashes bestselling lashes in Seductress which add crazy length and drama to my old lashes. These dark, lush lashes are sure to give your eyes a sultry look. The case also includes mini Lash Adhesives in a dark and a white shade. I thought the dark shade was regular brilliant! It looks like a black eyeliner in all honesty but I like how it blends in with the lash band so well. Best part? The glam gold case to keep your stash of lashes in (well, not your entire stash but at least three pairs) as well as your lash glue and perhaps a smaller lash tool if you have one! There’s also a mirror just in case you need to apply your lashes on the go. The case reminded me of some of my powder cases from Japanese brand, Majolica Majorca! It’s a really pretty way to store your lashes if you regularly apply falsies.

Did I become a master lash applicator after using this set?

No.

But I had a damn fine time trying them and wearing them while watching The Satanic Rites of Dracula.

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween!

The House of Lashes Holiday Gem Lash Set is available now at Sephora.com.

Oh Muse you look so pretty!! I suck at applying too, it takes me 30 freaking minutes to apply falsies and I will need to redo my makeup all over again since my eyes get all watery! Maybe it’s easier just to get lash extensions xD

    • Isabella Muse

aw you’re way too kind, Z thanks! haha I nearly poked my eye out doing these! I’m helpless with false lashes!

  • blee

You sure did make those lashes look beautiful! I have lashes and don’t spend the time either but once they were rainbow colored ones. They were odd to feel in my lids, but I kept them on all day.
OT: I got the Huda eye pallet today. 😀 So excited to try it . I didn’t want to wait til the 4th and I had a gift card to use.

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks! They looked awful though haha 😀 But I had fun that’s all that matters! Yup! It launched this morning! Yay! Enjoy!!!!!

      • blee

Musey, girl! YES you are, Never let anyone ( even you say your not) Love you, and yes you are pretty & beautiful! 😀

  • Dena mcclure

I have never seen your hair down; how beautiful! Rocking those lashes.

  • Christina D.

Dang but you look ah-mazing! I’ve never tried false eyelashes and I’m too paranoid to put glue near my eyes, but you make it look worth the trouble.

And Vee is right! Don’t sell yourself short, Muse. There’s lots of people I know only as acquaintances who talk sh*t about me — they don’t know a thing about who I am. You know what? They hate me ’cause they ain’t me!

    • Isabella Muse

omg sis you’re way too kind xoxoxoxoxoxoxo! Likewise, I was always crazy scare of the glue but you aren’t actually getting it near your eyes really, I mean it isn’t wet or anything like that. Once you apply the glue you wave the lash around a little bit so the glue dries down and goes tacky, after that it isn’t wet or running so no danger of getting it in your eye 🙂 xoxoxoxxoxo aw you’re so damn good for my ego girl!

  • Zovesta

You look soo cute! You should do more hair-down, front on pictures. You’re beautiful!! Oh, and the false lashes are nice, too. 😉

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks! typically I do my makeup in the AM before work and snap a pic thus my hair is typically slicked back and in a bun for the work day that’s why not many hair down pics, I hate my hair around my face when I’m working!

  • Maggie

What are you talking about – you look glorious! And not “overly made up” as a lot of people do…even though I know they’re false, they look surprisingly realistic – you could totally rock them at like, the grocery store even! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

awwwwwwwwww lol thanks maggie! A grocery run with these on hmmm that’s doable 😀

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks! I feel a little TOO made up with them but I had damn fun trying them on!

  • Nat

OMGGGGGG Muse! These look great on you…I love how fluttery and feathery they are! 😀

  • Zombie

    Hey Muse,
I think this is the first time I see your hair *-* You look absolutely gorgeous! Also these lashes suit you perfectly. I’m no good with lashes, too but I love the look they give and I think the HOL ones are quite comfortable for something you glue to your eyeballs for a whole day.
    Greetings,
    Zombie

    • Isabella Muse

Aw thanks! There are a few pics here and there of my wild hair 😀 thanks!!!!!!! I dunno if I’d wear them out but they were fun to try on! I’m going to keep practicing with them 😀

  • Deb

OMG, those lashes look FANTASTIC on you! I love the hair too! I have only just gotten into wearing false lashes regularly in the last month or so and it gets easier the more you do it (practice makes perfect and all that). It used to take me half an hour to get them just right but now I can get them on and positioned correctly in about ten minutes. Removing the glue off my eyelids at the end of the day is the worst part (for me).

    Deb

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Deb!!!!!!!!!! God I hope someday I’ll do it that quickly 😀

  • Elena

Wowowowowow! Not over done at all but insanely pretty. Just the right amount of done up.

  • Seahorse

Muse, I don’t often leave messages but read you almost daily – and I gotta say if I had hair like you I’d leave it down and curly ALL the time – it is Beautiful!! AND the lashes rock with it!!! Being the makeup maven you are, what is your recommendation on a natural day-to-day pair that’s durable? I have to take injections and am losing all my eyelashes fast, so I have to “learn” how to wear false lashes.

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Seahorse! Thank you so so much for reading daily and for your lovely comments 😀 Oh girl I am NOT a makeup maven 🙂 I just like to dabble! I wish I could let you know of a good pair to try out but I’m clueless with falsies! They aren’t something I commonly use daily in all honesty, hopefully someone else might chime in (because I have awesome readers) who can recommend you something. Aw it’s my pleasure truly it is especially when I have such lovely people like you around xoxo!

    • Nat

Oh, oh! I know what I would do! I would go to a site that sells false eyelashes from Asian countries (Japan, South Korea) and just grab a whole bunch of different ones to try. They’re so inexpensive that you could try many brands and styles for a relatively cheap price to find what you like most. Even if they end up not being necessarily good/durable, you would find the *style* (length, fullness, gradient, etc.) you like most – and then you could try higher end brands in the same style! yessstyle.com (or yesstyle.ca if you are in Canada) is a good one – TONS of variety! 😀

  • Seahorse

Oops! I meant to say methotrexate injections not just injections. Anyhoo, side effect for me is my lashes are falling out FAST! aaargh. Btw – love all the reviewing you do for us!

  • Seahorse

Hey thanks ya’ll for ideas. I don’t know anything about falsies either Muse, but I guess I’ll learn. My concern is how will the darn things stay up outta my eyes with no natural lashes to support them?? – Curl the heck out of them maybe. Thanks Nat for helping. No I’m afraid I’m not near Canada – ATL native. I wanna try to do the best I can not to look like a lash-less alien!

    • Isabella Muse

hmmm! Good question! They have a thin bad that attached to the skin above your natural lashes so it might work fine even without lashes to hold them in place but don’t quote me 🙂

    • Nat

Just piping in again, as my mom was born without any eyelashes – she’s worn false ones her entire life, and never had issues with them falling off. As long as you use some good glue you are GTG! 🙂

      • Seahorse

Thank u Nat. Bless your Mom’s heart – now I feel bad about that lashless alien comment, but plz know that was just coming from my corner & being rather panic-stricken. Makeup & such is fun until it’s NEEDED. Ah ch-ch-changes. ❤️
Thank you Muse for allowing me to hijack this thread. Ya’ll are good folks!

        • Nat

LOLZ I didn’t even notice the alien comment. My mom’s pretty weird (me too!), so it kind of fits anyways! 😀
