MAC Yum Yum Yum Magic Dust Powder ($28) is one of two, limited edition blush/highlighter powders that launched with MAC Nutcracker Sweet Holiday 2016 Collection. As you know I was delighted with MAC Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder! So much so, that I ended up purchasing two backups.

I wish I could say the same for Yum Yum Yum!

MAC Yum Yum Yum Magic Dust Powder is what calls a “translucent ultra-fine, light-catching pearlescent powder for face, neck and décolleté”. Word to the wise, don’t go around dusting this on your chest! Seriously, the other shade I reviewed, Sweet Vision, is pigmented as hell! I’m not sure who wants their décolleté decorated with golden pinky peach highlight. By all means if that’s your thing, do it! Personally, I wouldn’t 🙂 For me, MAC Magic Dust Powder acts most as a blush but as the luminosity and glow of a highlighter and works best on your face.

MAC Yum Yum Yum Magic Dust Powder is a bright cooler pink shade with gold sparkle. I found the formula stiffer and considerably drier compared to Sweet Vision. I had trouble picking up color with my blush which resulted in a sheerer color pay off. I had to build quite a bit to get the best color payoff. I felt the color applied patchy, proved difficult to blend, and looked dry on my cheeks. I used a small kabuki in the end to built and blend the color up for the best finish as my regular Bobbi Brown Blush Brush simply wasn’t cutting it. The color seemed to fade a lot more quicker compared to Sweet Vision as well and lasted only five hours on me before showing signs of wear.

It’s interesting how two different colors perform so vastly different! If you’re heading into a purchase do yourself a favor and skip Yum Yum Yum! But do indulge in Sweet Vision, that one, is a keeper to say the least.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I returned it & I rarely return beauty stuff, I often just pass it to someone I think will like it. I couldn’t think of anyone for this one, besides my 10 year old step daughter. You must’ve been building this up forever to get that much pay off. Sweet vision is so good. I’m loving the face compacts too, especially the peach one.
