Some of What I Purchased At the Sephora Sale

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Yes, I am that girl that set my alarm clock for 3:30AM so I could get up and attacked the Sephora Sale early. I was out pretty late last night as first I went to see Saturday Night Fever the Musical and after that I went to see Doctor Strange (Cumberb1tches shout at me!). So, I got it damn late! I’d like to thank micellar water for allowing me to crawl right into bed after a long day and night. I’d also like to thank my iPhone for waking me up in time to grab what I wanted for the sale. I’m not thanking Sephora because obviously you brushed up on your server skills this year and the site is working flawlessly which means I didn’t have to get up early to shop!

Anyway, the above slideshow (if you’re viewing via RSS or newsletter you’ll have to visit my site to see it) is a few of the goodies I picked up! I still have to shop presents for friends and family now but yeah, I totally spoiled myself!

This meme applies to me:

I’m reading all your comments this morning and gleefully rubbing my hands at everything you hauled. Want to invite me over so we can play with your hauls? And of course, you can come over and play with mine! Mmm that sounds weirder than it actually is!

Anyway, feel free to keep posting your hauls! I know some of you are being super bad and heading in for 2nd and 3rd orders 🙂 I have the “one for you, three for me” gifting mentality which means I keep filling my cart with gifts for my friends and family and adding something for myself as well.

Sigh.

The life of a makeup addict.

Happy Shopping my friends!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

I missed out on the Belif Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream. It’s been in and out of stock online for the past week and a half, so I am crossing my fingers that it will be back before the sale ends!

  • Nanners

I looooove the JOne Jelly Pack! You picked up quite some Kbeauty I see 😉

    • Isabella Muse

I can’t wait to try it! You know be, ever always obsessed with all things Korean (food, beauty, k-pop, k-drama 🙂

  • N

I had everything I wanted in my shopping cart ahead of time and set my alarm for 3 am to order it off their app and then fell asleep again, so I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who does that. I think that shows determination, haha. I don’t want to order later in the day jut to find that what I want is sold out. The only thing was I was so sleepy I almost forgot to put in the discount code, but remembered before I hit order!

    • Isabella Muse

I’m glad you didn’t lose sleep actually because the site is working great! Last year it was having issues!!!!!!!!!!! But yeah, birds of a father right? 😀 But sorry your item sold out 🙁 keep checking back! I was so sleepy I forgot to hit my ebates to get money back! SOO SOO pissed and was tempted to cancel and re-order!

      • Powell

UGH I forgot Ebates during the Nordstrom sale in August. ;( Can’t forget at the Sephora VIB sale. 🙂

  • Emily

Second (final I hope!) order just placed: went for the Drunk Elephant Baby Pekee Bar™ + Juju Bar™ Travel Duo, Sephora Collection Midnight Magic Face and Body Glitter Pots (Rose Gold), Sephora Collection Sparkle & Shine Antibacterial Brush Set, and Lancôme Lip Lover in Violette Pirouette.

    • Isabella Muse

haha sucker! 😀 I’m working on my gift order for friends/fam right now and keep popping stuff in and out of my cart for me too! I need to stop!

  • Rachael

    Yasss Dr. Strange

I’m a VIB member so I have to wait until the 11th but waiting in my cart (so far) are the Holiday Meteorites, Besame Powder Trio Gift Set and Surrat eyelash curler. I actually like that they’re staggering the sale for Rouge and VIB so items have a chance to be restocked.

    • Isabella Muse

Did you see it!? 🙂 Excellent pick on the Besame Powders! I LOVE those 😀 Read my review on the Surrat Eyeshdow Curler before deciding 🙂 Also good because it keeps the site from slowing down!

  • Danielle

Omg, I placed 3 orders because I couldn’t decide what I wanted or didn’t want. I bought a bunch of face masks and the Natasha Denona star palette, the Huda palette and the Marc Jacobs About Last Night Style Con No 20 palette. Omg, 3 orders…. I need to be stopped, Muse!

      • Danielle

Okay, fourth and final (hopefully) order today! I had to get the Dyson Hair Dryer. I’ve heard mixed reviews and so I want to try it for myself. I need to cut off my internet or something, seriously!

  • Pandora

I swear earlier I thought you also purchased the Tom Ford Orchid Soleil Perfume.

I got a sample of it and fell in love. Sometimes I feel like super sweet scents (Aquolina Pink Sugar) or very fresh scents (Nest Dahlia & Vines) don’t work the best with my body chemistry. However, I was super happy with Orchid Soleil. It lasted all day and I didn’t get any grandma vibes from it at all. I was shocked it has such mixed reviews on Sephora. Some people were complaining that it smelled like tortillas or burnt rubber???? I guess you either love it or hate it. It’s on my neverending VIB wishlist filled with perfumes. lol
Muse, do you have any other TF Orchid’s and which is your favorite?

    • Isabella Muse

I did for some reason this post doesn’t want to work for me….GRRRRRRR! Sorry! I also had other items on my list. I’m still learning how to use this widget 🙂 Sorry! I got a sample too and loved it. It kind of goes leathery on me 😀 really? Tortillas?> I don’t get that. I stayed away from Like This Etat Libre d’Orange for a long time. Why? Because everyone kept saying it smelled like over ripe fruit at the bottom of a trash can! yuk! I purchased it blindly one day and boy were they wrong! It was perfect! I’m not a TF expert to be honest, I’m just starting to get into his stuff because for a long time felt it was too floral and too dark but so far, the orchid I like best is Violet Orchid!

I picked up the Huda palette a few days ago, and I feel pretty mixed. Not many of the shades are good quality. Although some were good, like Angelic and Moon Dust. The foiled ones have this really odd texture, they feel like glitter pigment mixed with oil that was pressed. Really odd discription, but fitting!

    • Isabella Muse

hmmm interesting! I haven’t gotten mine yet but I’m curious how I’ll feel about it!

      • TwirlyGirly

Recommend you watch the video describing the palette and demonstrating its use on the Huda Beauty website. Mine arrives tomorrow, so I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. According to the video, the textured metallic shadows should be applied with a fingertip (tapping motion) – not a brush! (A sponge-tip applicator might work, too – but again, I don’t have it yet so that’s just theory). It also looks like the mattes could really benefit from a primer. Any time I’m dealing with a “temperamental” eyeshadow, I try a primer (or stickier eyeshadow base) and apply the shadow with a sponge-tip applicator, using a brush only to gently blend out the edges. This improves the coverage of most shadows considerably!

I had placed an order and went to the store. I’m actually really lucky because I was able to get products that are not available online in store. I got the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Quartz, Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops, Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Set, ABH Mario Dedivanovic Eyeshadow Palette and the Modern Renaissance Palettes, among other palettes, a few Bite Beauty Lipsticks, among other things. Super happy with my purchase as I’ve been waiting for this all year long. I usually try to be good during the year and reward myself during this time, albeit a few purchases here and there. Just a quick tip with the J One Jelly Pack (one of my holy grails – use it after my daytime skincare, use it as a primer), if you’re patient enough with international shipping, I got mine from Koreadepart for $15.00 each. I just got my shipment today and the expiration date is 2019 so I know the products they sell are fresh. The shipping’s not too bad with registered mail and just got my KBeauty fix along with my staples.

Since seeing other people’s hauls (and doing some more in-depth sampling these last few days) I keep popping items in and out of my shopping cart for what I want to buy during VIB! LOL

There’s only one item currently sold out (Belif Choose Your Attack Moisture Bomb set), which I’m hoping will be restocked before VIB starts!!!

    nice haul!

    • Isabella Muse

did you see the flaky set from Belief? Has a full size the bomb in it!

  • Mint

I’ve been eyeing those Drunken Elephant sets as well! The brand has amazing ratings on Beautypedia 😮

    I hope you’ll review them!

  • TwirlyGirly

I ordered the Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette/ Rose Gold Edition (for myself) and the Formula X “X In The City” Nail Polish Set (for my daughter, for X-mas) yesterday online, and then right after I hit the “Place Order” button realized I had not entered the “20ROUGE” promo code! EEK!

However, a quick call to the VIB Rouge Concierge fixed it; they can’t go into the order and change the total to reflect the 20% discount, but instead give you a store credit (which can be used online OR at Sephora stores) equal to 20% of your order.

That works for me, as I was planning to drop by Sephora today to pick up a bottle of Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Liquid Foundation (which I did not want to order online, as neither of the two samples I got a couple of weeks ago are quite the right shade, so I want to test a couple of others before purchasing).

So, despite my mistake, it all worked out!

      • TwirlyGirly

The saga continues….despite being told over the phone I could use the store credit in the actual store, it did NOT appear in my account at the store. However, when I explained what happened and showed them the store credit in my account in the Sephora.com app on my phone, the store issued me a gift card in the amount of the store credit and applied it to my purchase.

As I was driving home I started thinking if the store couldn’t see the credit issued to me online, then probably my online account didn’t know the store had issued me a gift card so I could use the credit. Sure enough, when I got home and checked my account, the credit was still there. So I called the Rouge Concierge, explained what happened, told them I had used the credit due to me, and asked the agent to remove the store credit from my account.

The guy was so shocked that I had called (instead of using the credit AGAIN online), he gave me 250 points!

So “all’s well that ends well,” as they say. It’s kind of sad, though, to think he was surprised that I didn’t take advantage of something I was not entitled to…

  • Lisa O’Neill

The Algenist concealer looks interesting! Hopefully you will let me know what your thoughts on it are before I get my chance at the sale! I’m amassing quite a collection of concealers!
I’ve spent so much moolah this fall (just not enough at Sephora for VIBRouge status!) so I won’t be getting much. I’m still mulling over my 1 palette choice, which of the 3: Too Faced Chocolate Bar, Lorac Pro 2, or Naked 2? I usually get 1 big holiday collection but this year I haven’t seen anything that isn’t a disappointment so I thought I’d get a good, basic, everyday palette.
I have brown eyes, light skin, & currently medium brown hair with rose gold highlights my awesome hairstylist put in for me!!
What do you think Muse? Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Thank you for any insights as I’m a terrible decision maker!

    • Isabella Muse

Right? I’m hoping it’ll be fab! Haha likewise, I have a concealer addiction! All three are excellent palettes, Lisa! Take a step back, look at the shades, and consider which you’d use most and go from there 🙂

  • Maggie

Ooh, I picked up the Glow filter as well – pretty excited about it to be honest. Still tempted by the Blur since I’ve got both Beach Walk and By the Fireplace…

And OMG Doctor Strange, can we just exchange lives sometime? You have all the fun! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

likewise! Apparently it makes fragrances wear longer! Hahaha! 🙂 Did you see it yet?

  • Ruth

I purchased some basics like moisturizer, acne treatments, BB balm, & face wash. But I did get the ABH renaissance pallet, BB mauvemeber, and UD Troublemaker. like the goofball i am, accidentally sent the order to my friend’s house instead of my own. doh! Then I went to the mall and picked up MUF neutral 1, ABH Maco pallet, ciate liquid lippie mini trio, and a brow pencil.

    • Isabella Muse

oh no! She’ll think it’s a gift hehe! 😀 I was going to stop in store after work but I should NOT do that 😀

      • Ruth

sephora cs said they could intercept the package once it’s in transit, so hopefully they’ll re-route it to me. I contacted them immediately and they told me there was nothing they could do to correct it until it was shipped.

I was oh so casually perusing the site at work just in case something else jumped into my cart and needed to find it’s way into my collection.

        • Isabella Muse

aw damn! My first order had items that sold out and they didn’t even bother telling me! 🙁 boo! hiss! Which means I should really go in store and get those items right?! 🙂

          • Ruth

They’re not really leaving you any other choice but to go in store and pick up the items- they’re gifts =D

  • J

I got the makeup forever hd foundation and waterblend foundation, liquid lipsticks by anastasia and tart (allison and bestie), too faced hangover replenishing primer, and shiseido sun protection eye cream 😀 I still had some full sized perfumes in my wish list too, …but I think I want to be ‘good’ and finish my rollerball versions first. Next time definitely!!!

Let us know how you like your drunk elephant purchase! I’m curious about that brand 😀

  • Ruth

Sephora did it to me too! I ordered the Bite Mauvemember lippie and they didn’t tell me it was out of stock until my order shipped SIX DAYS LATER!! I don’t care about the delay because they can only go so fast but I’m annoyed that the sale is over for me and I can’t utilize the discount and pick it up in store.

    • Isabella Muse

GRRR! 🙁 When I noticed it was out of stock, I immediately re-ordered on Monday as it came back in stock! I’d have been PISSED if I didn’t get what I wanted!

      • Ruth

I kinda am! I have enough make up to last through the zombie apocalypse but not that particular shade with the mustache on it! it’s almost like accumulating different shades of red- you can never have too many.
