Urban Decay the Finger Brush ($26) is a new concealer brush that gives you the ability to apply you concealer with the same control as you would have with your finger. Sounds cool? That’s because it is as the Finger Brush gives you finger-like control but the ability to get more of an airbrushed finish that a finger can’t get you.

Here’s how it works.

I happen to be a diehard Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush #57 myself but there are concealer brushes that come into my life which blow my mind. Urban Decay the Finger Brush definitely falls into that category.

I knew I wanted this for a while now (it release late this Summer) but didn’t indulge until just recently. Why I waited so long is anyone’s guess but now that I have this in my arsenal, it’s here to stay. This has a sturdy, slim handle with a spool-like design that’s made from recycled aluminum but has the appearance of a silken thread wrapped around the brush handle. It’s a completely cruelty-free brush made from soft, synthetic hair fibers. I washed it a few times and so far it’s retaining its shape well.

This is unlike the fuller concealer brushes I own. Many concealer brushes I own have short, dense bristles that are fuller and larger compared to the Finger Brush. This is smaller short bristled brush and I had my doubts about using it under my eyes as it felt more like a spot concealer brush versus one for use under my eyes. I started applying my concealer both before and after my eye makeup recently and this brush actually works great after eyeshadow application. This is small but mighty. The shorter bristles pick up plenty of concealer and the density but softness of those bristles buff concealer gently into place for an airbrushed finish. The real joy is using this after eye makeup! I find my regular concealer brushes are too big for the inner corner of my eye but this brush fits perfectly in the area without smearing my eye makeup. It also fits the contour of my eye beautifully, just like my finger!

The result? Instantly flawless, airbrushed finished concealer under my eyes.

And hey, if you’re looking for spot coverage this is just as perfect as you can gentle buff concealer onto spots, etc…for a flawless finish.

Well done, Urban Decay! This is a brush that will stick around happily in my stash and get a ton of mileage.

I knew I should have ordered this during the Rouge sale! Maybe I’ll get it during another sale. Sephora usually sends out coupon codes in December too, right? Or maybe UD will have another sale soon.

i will! i think ulta has it too, right? hopefully they do A 20% off prestige before Christmas. i’ve been hoarding all my ulta points for that dyson dryer lol

They did one recently but it excluded a few things like fragrance which surprised me. I hope they do another one that discounts at everything for prestige!

I use cream concealer. Does this brush work with cream concealer or only powder concealer?

    Hi Muse,

A question about this brush: I’ve been eyeing it for a while now, and I wanted to ask if this would be a good brush for blending in cream contour on the nose. I really want a precise brush which I can control when blending cream contour along the sides of the nose.

Sidenote: I love your website, been following it for ages now. You were one of the people who inspired me to start my own beauty blog, and I love how consistent you have been throughout the year with your amazing blog.

Don’t quote me Maayza because I’m not an expert at contouring but I do believe this would be a good brush for using down the sides of the nose. It has dense bristles yet soft ones and a smaller head which will fit beside the nose contour quite nicely. Aw thank YOU! that’s very, very, very flattering to hear <3!!!!!!!!! xoxo!
