Colourpop x Hello Kitty Ultra Metallic Lip Review & Swatches
ColourPop Surprise Ultra Metallic Liquid Lipstick is yet another delightful ruby red color that launched with the Colourpop x Hello Kitty Collection. If you already ready my post on the Coloupop x Hello Kitty Lippie Stix you know about the shade Let’s Play which is also a sparkly ruby red. Both shades are excellent pick ups for a festive Holiday lip! I think the colors are pretty similar but if you might like a solid lipstick over a liquid one and vice versa which is why it’s great they are so much alike as you can either indulge in both or indulge in your favorite formula.
Colourpop x Hello Kitty Ultra Metallic Lip comes housed in blue and red metallic box decorated with cute Hello Kitty bows. The actual lipstick barrel has a silver top that’s decorated with Hello Kitty’s bows. It’s a cute presentation and will be especially loved by Hello Kitty fans.
Colourpop describes the shade as a metallic finish cool-toned ruby red with copper and hot pink glitter. To me it’s a metallic ruby red with a bluish pearl tint. It’s a very pretty shade and particularly looks lovely with a little clear gloss on top as the shade looks even more like just poured metal when the finish is more glossy.
The formula has a thin, runny, and slightly gritty texture that felt a little dry at first but set to a more comfortable, weightless finish. It’s pretty bulletproof once it sets and doesn’t have migration or transfer issues. I can get about six hours from it even when eating or drinking. It’s quite pigmented and a single application produces smooth, even, opaque color.
If you’re searching for a long wearing festive red this might fit the bill well! Not to mention the super inexpensive price of $6!
