Etude House Personal Color Palette Review & Swatches
One of the best gifts I gave myself this year was the Etude House Personal Color Palette. I picked up the Etude House Personal Color Warm Tone Eyes Palette for myself after much debate with myself about whether I really needed another nude, natural eyeshadow palette. This launched early in the Fall and I skipped over buying it many, many times. Finally, on Black Friday I gave in and I ordered it.
Here’s my thoughts and review.
I can probably happily get through more than half of my makeup life with this single eyeshadow palette in it. I love this thing! Etude House can be very hit and miss as you probably already know after reading my reviews on some of their past palettes like Juice Bar Palette and In the Cafe Play Color Eyes. But there are times Etude House simply knocks it out of the park like with the Pink Skull Color Eyes Palettes. That would be the case with this new Personal Color Palette.
This one set me back $29 on Black Friday and it includes 20 shades of Etude House eyeshadow (0.03 oz each) in a variety of finishes from matte to sparkle to shimmer and satin. The palette is big but not so big it won’t travel and store easily. It has a super generously sized mirror inside as well but no applicators. The palette has a overlay film which includes the name of each of the shadows on it but sadly the names are not printed on the actual palette.
This is a pretty standard Asian eyeshadow formula which you’re either going to really love or really hate. If you’ve tried and love Covergirl’s Trunaked Eyeshadow Palettes that’s the best way to describe this formua. These are very soft, very silky, and the shimmers are very flaky. They apply very, very easily if you use a sponge tipped eyeshadow applicator but can be a pain to use with a regular brush as you’ll get a good deal of fall out and also you’ll find color is difficult to pick up with a bushier brush. If you use a sponge applicator you’ll do well!
The shades are so soft that they do kick up a good deal of powder but the blend and apply so smoothly on my drier lids. The shades vary in intensity and pigmentation but most of these shades will get you some very, very gorgeous eye looks without having to build up.
I absolutely love the color scheme. Th shades just all go together so well! There are light nude oranges here, tans, browns, barks, dark browns, coppers, even dusky roses.
After purchasing and using this for a few weeks I decided that I’d be purchasing the other palette in this range which is the Cool Toned Eyes which appears to have some really pretty roses and plums.
If you like soft, almost creamy textured eyeshadows you’ll do well with the Etude House Personal Color Palette. Although I’d say it’s a skip if you aren’t a fan of eyeshadows like the ones featured in the Trunaked Eyeshadow Palette and Too Faced The Return of Sexy Palette.
Etude House Personal Color Palette can be purchases from a variety of sellers on ebay.com.
