Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach Blush ($30) makes a return with the Too Faced Sweet Peach Spring 2017 Collection. This pretty little peach blush was released in Summer 2009 and at the time they were available in three shades and called Too Faced Pinch My Petals Blush.

With the revamp you’ll be getting pretty new packaging, a little bit of a shade revamp, and a lovely peachy fragrance.

Here’s my review and swatches.

Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach Blush comes housed in a very cute tin compact that features an adorable peach emoji on the front face plate. The blush weights in at 0.32 oz in size and will set you back $30. I can’t recall the size of the original blush at the moment but it was originally $19.50.

One of the stand out things about the blush is the packaging. I’m a sucker for anything that’s cute and this is beyond cute. When I was in Japan I was always amazed by the kawaii culture. Everything from street signs to directions on washing your hands at a public bathroom are done with cute little cartoons many of which you’ll easily associate and recognize, I’m talking to you Hello Kitty. I’ve always been fascinated with Japanese and Korean culture as well as makeup as testimony to my blog which has strong roots in Asian makeup and beauty. I love many of the Eastern influences in the makeup world today. I don’t know if Too Faced realizes it or not but the packaging and the cuteness here very much give off a Japanese vibe and even a Korean one as many of you might just remember the Etude House Miss Tangerine Collection that launched a few years ago. Although, not peach, it was another very cute citrus-y collection that absolutely delighted me! The tin packaging might bring you back to your grade school days when having a really cool Sanrio pencil box was all the rage. The sweet peach emoji makes an appearance outside and inside the compact as well! Not to mention there’s an adorable peach imprint on the blush! You may love or not love the fact this smells like sweet peaches. I was a little disappointed when I originally reviewed the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette because the scent was kind of faint to my nose. None of that applied to Papa Don’t Peach! It’s super scented! You can smell it well after application! I loved it but sensitive users might not adore it. Personally, I think it adds even more cuteness to the blush.

As for the shade it’s considerably more pink compared to the original. For me the shade is a warm coral orange with a bit of pink and a frosty finish that has a slight sheen. It’s the type of texture that does cling to dryness prepping well prior to application will get you the smoothest finish. It could potentially be disappointing if you have a darker skin as the color is sheerer in finish. It builds nicely but still remains fairly sheer and this will prove disappointing for many darker skin tones. I have a lighter medium skin tone with warm undertones and I thought it looked very pretty. I could build it to a really warm orange-y coral but I kept it fairly sheer in my photos below and I think you can see it reflects back a nice pinkish tone. It applies fairly easily and blends nicely but the finish does have a knack for adhering to drier areas on my face if I build it too much. Just prep well if you have drier skin and you’ll be fine. It wore quite nicely without fading for a solid seven hours!

Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach isn’t going to win the hearts of those with darker skin tones but it’s a rather nice warmer, golden peach that’s a refreshing and warmer than the standard golden pinks we’ve seen from popular shades like NARS Orgasm. I liked it but didn’t love it. I think that MAC really captured my heart this season with their Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder and I was kind of hoping I’d see some of the same from Papa Don’t Peach but it didn’t quite gift me with that pretty luminous glow I was expecting. None the less, I don’t regret the purchase!

No, I didn’t get it. It says on the box it’s peached infused. Do you think it’s just the scent or is there some peach extract in it? Thanks Musey, girl! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

it literally says in the ingredients that it contains prunus persica (peach) fruit extract so, yeah lol, I guess it really doesn’t contain peach 😀

  • lauren

I just got their peach how palette an was so disappointed. Not great color pay off!

I just got their peach glow palette an was so disappointed. Not great color pay off!

    • Isabella Muse

oh no! have you tried a kabuki? This is pretty sheer too but builds! However, darker skin tones will struggle having it show up I think!

    • ame

Same here. I am NC10-15 and it does NOT show up on me. Like…at all. Not with any brush. It’s going back.

      • Isabella Muse

Did you get Papa Don’t Peach, Ame? curious if that showed up for you!

  • Sarah

Is it me, or does it look like NARS Orgasm. Great color on you. And in my opinion, this would look good on almost all skin tones. This time of year keep your skin mositurized, otherwise, for me it looks chalky. Just me though. . I will be picking this up. Thank you once again.

    • Isabella Muse

Not really! Bit warmer and orange compared to the more golden peachy pink of O. Not really, it’s a little too sheer for a deeper tone imho! Are you lighter or darker? I’d be curious to see how it does for you if you have a darker skin tone 😀 My pleasure xo!

      • Sarah

I would have to say I have the same skin tone, but you are are a shade darker than I am. I am starting to tan, so it may work for me. But, your complexion, you could wear mud and look good. I am in need of a refresher of Botox.

          • Sarah

Yay. I can always use a BFF. NYC is only 4 hours away. . And no, I’m not a crazy stalker. You never know when you will find friends. Keep your heart open. Friends and family are so very precious.

I got the papa peach blush but did not use it yet. The color looks nice on you. I tried the peach glow highlight and I also had to apply the powders a number of times and I had to use 2 different brushes. I will try a kabuki brush next. Glow palette is very sheer. Funny I love the HSN funfetti blush from today special which has more pigmentation.

    • Isabella Muse

let me know whatcha think Maria, curious on your thoughts! So far highlighter is sheer for me too but I used a kabuki and got better color payoff ;D

  • CAROL G.

I love this! I never had the original so there is nothing to compare it to. I used one of my WNW powder blushes and used the x & o technique I saw on the Too Faced website and it came out beautiful. Plus this is a fairly big tin of blush so it is worth the $ in my opinion. For me, the smell was not overwhelming at all. I guess it will be different for everyone but I am glad I bought it and am quite pleased. Still waiting for the lip oil. That is the one thing I can’t wait to see the texture and color of. Also received the Glow palette but didn’t use it yet.

    • Isabella Muse

I liked it as well. I thought it was pretty! The lip oils are quite nice, like the gloss that came with the Funfetti set!

  • Nicole

It was too shimmery for me. I felt it was more of a highlighter. It really emphasized the texture of my skin. I would not recommend for anyone with visible pores.

    • Isabella Muse

likewise for me, it adhere badly to my drier areas! I had to prep very well for a smooth finish!

  • Lori

Hi, I ordered the blush palette and received the eyeshadow palette. It’s a Christmas gift. The number is no longer in service, and I have sent email and messages, any ideas?

  • kel h

i think it looks super cute on you! gonna pass for myself as i’m more interested in the stila gliteratti and the kat von d holo product right now. gotta prioritize!

    • Isabella Muse

Aw thanks Kel! xoxo! I’m skipping halo but def want to try out gliteratti’s new shade!

  • Michelle Flamingo

I see someone else said the same thing but I will repeat it so that you know it is more than one person who thinks this….it looks great on you!

  • Kayla

I ended up with two! I wanted to order everything from Ulta since I had a 20% off coupon that would apply to the collection but when I checked their website before the launch they had everything listed except the blush, so I ordered it from Too Faced instead. After I ordered the eyeshadow palette from Ulta I saw that they had the blush too so I placed a separate order (luckily I had another 20% coupon!) and planned on canceling my order with Too Faced in the morning. Well, apparently once an order is placed it gets sent to the warehouse and can’t be canceled. My sister mentioned that she was interested in trying the collection so I’m giving her one of the blushes for Christmas. Her skin is very fair so I think it’s going to look nice on her!

I’m glad it worked out and your sis gets gifted too! 😀 I hope you guys like ’em!
